ADVERTISMENT OF CANCELLING.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 21st day of December, 1926, cancelled the registry of Te Wera Lodge No. 92, of the Independent Order of Oddfellows of New Zealand Friendly Society (Register No. 146/136), held at Te Wera, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Pohokura Land Company (Limited), held at the company's registered office, Auckland, it was by special resolution resolved that the company do go into liquidation, and that Messrs JOHN ROUTLY and M. D. GREY do act as Liquidators of the company, the liquidation to take effect as the law provides, and the fee of £15 15s. be paid to the Liquidators.

Another extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company to confirm the above-mentioned special resolution will be held on Thursday, the 30th day of December, 1926.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 16th day of December, 1926, as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of twelve thousand pounds (£12,000) to be known as the Wellington City Unemployment Loan, 1926, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemployment—namely, street-construction on Alexandra Road, Hornsey Road, and other streets, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventieth of a penny (1/70d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April of each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five and a half (5½) years from the 1st day of February, 1927, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested it it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 16th day of December, 1926, as follows :-

That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the special loan of thirty-six thousand one hundred pounds (£36,100), to be known as the Wellington City (Karori and Onslow Districts) Drainage Completion Loan, 1926, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing within its district the following sanitary works, that is to say-(1) The completion of the drainage of the Karori District, being that portion of the City of Wellington that was comprised in the Borough of Karori on the 1st day of January, 1920; and (2) the completion of the drainage of the Onslow District, being that portion of the City of Wellington that was comprised in the Borough of Onslow on the 1st day of January, 1919, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-fourth of a penny (1/24d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable

yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of six and a half (6½) years, from the 1st day of February, 1927, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOMO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.-£20,000 LOAN.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Rating Act, 1908, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and all other Acts and powers it enabling, the Waitomo Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £20,000 (twenty thousand pounds) authorized to be raised by the Waitomo Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of installing electrical and other equipment for consumers and for the purchase of electrical and other equipment to sell to consumers, as provided for under sections 88 to 90 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments, the Waitomo Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Waitomo Electric-power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Waitotara County Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, being 10 per centum on a loan of £5,000 authorized to be raised by the Waitotara County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of widening and metalling the Rangitatau East Road, the said Waitotara County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/12th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waitahinga Special-rating District, as gazetted on page 2407 of the New Zealand Gazette of 1921, in connection with the original Waitahinga Special-rating District; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Description of Boundaries.-The whole of the Waitahinga Special-rating District.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for making and constructing sewer drains and drainage-works in the Borough of Hamilton, including the purchase of any necessary land, materials, plant, and tools, and payments for labour, engineers' fees, plans and supervision, and compensation to owners of property in respect of such sewer-drainage works, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-second part of a penny in the pound (unimproved) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton, comprising the whole of the Borough of Hamilton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of not exceeding 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
