GERALDINE COUNTY RIVER BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Waihi River District, taken on the 24th day of November, 1926, on the proposal of the Geraldine County River Board to borrow the sum of three thousand seven hundred pounds (£3,700) for the purpose of removing trees growing in the Waihi riverbed and for the construction of protective-works on the banks of the Waihi River.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 28; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.

Lower Matakana Wharf Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Sandspit Wharf Special-rating Area, taken on the 11th day of November, 1926, on the proposal of the Rodney County Council to raise a loan of £300 to reconstruct the Lower Matakana wharf and erect a storage shed thereon, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal, 18; against the proposal, nil; informal, nil.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

TARANAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll.

IN the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereof, and in the matter of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and also in the matter of the Taranaki Electric-power Board’s proposal to raise a special loan of £75,000 for a term of not exceeding 36½ years, at a rate of interest not exceeding £6 per centum per annum, plus a sinking fund of £1 per centum per annum, as more particularly described in advertisement appearing in the Taranaki Daily News and the Taranaki Herald and Budget, of 28th September, 5th, 12th, and 19th October, 1926.

Public notice is hereby given that the result of poll of the ratepayers of the Clifton County Special-rating Area of the Taranaki Electric-power District, taken on the 8th day of November, 1926, on the above-mentioned proposal was as follows:—

Number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 61; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 84; number of informal votes, 5.

I hereby declare the proposal to be not carried.

Result of a Poll on a Proposal to Borrow £8,000.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Eastbourne, taken on the 1st day of December, 1926, on the proposal of the Eastbourne Borough Council to borrow by way of special loan within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, a sum of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) in order to establish, maintain, and regulate a motor-omnibus service for the conveyance of passengers and goods within the Borough of Eastbourne, and between Wellington and Eastbourne and Eastbourne and Wellington, and to purchase from Messrs. Sievers and Bosher, Motor-bus Proprietors, of Eastbourne, their eight buses, with necessary tools, equipment, and stocks—

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipukurau, taken on the 7th day of October, 1926, on the proposal of the Waipukurau Borough Council to borrow the sum of £19,000 for reforming, kerbing, channelling, and sealing streets and footpaths, and purchase of plant for carrying out such work:—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 161; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 168.

I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipukurau, taken on the 7th day of October, 1926, on the proposal of the Waipukurau Borough Council to borrow the sum of £19,000 for providing a high-pressure water-supply and extension of water-mains:—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 169; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 160.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
