Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Otorohanga County.—Mangaorongo Survey District.
SECTION 10, Block XII: Area, 435 acres. Capital value, £600. Deferred payments: Deposit, £30; half-yearly instalment, £18 10s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12.
Situated about eighteen miles from Otorohanga by good metalled road, to within two miles of the section; thence by a well-formed clay road. There is a post-office and school at Maihihi, four miles distant. The section contains about 100 acres of light bush, comprising principally tawa, with a few rimu-trees, the balance being open land in fern, light scrub, and tutu. The country is flat to undulating, and most of the latter is capable of being ploughed or disked. Soil is of medium quality resting on volcanic formation; well watered by permanent streams.
Waikato County.—Whangamarino Parish.
Sections 320 and 321: Area, 54 acres 2 roods 27 perches. Capital value, £170. Deferred payments: Deposit, £10; half-yearly instalment, £5 4s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 8s.
Situated about four miles from Te Kauwhata on the Wae-ronga Road, which is metalled all the way, and a quarter of a mile from Waikare School, post-office, store, and railway-station. All undulating fern and scrub land, nearly all ploughable. Soil clay loam of medium quality on clay formation; poorly watered by permanent stream on eastern boundary.

Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waikato County.—Rangiriri Survey District.
SECTION 3, Block VI: Area, 314 acres 3 roods 3 perches; capital value, £320; half-yearly rent, £6 8s.
Situated about seven miles from Rangiriri Railway-station and cream-depot, and three miles from Rotongaro School. About 215 acres undulating and ploughable land, covered with scrub; balance of area is swamp, covered with wiwi rushes. The improvements on this section not included in the capital value comprise five-roomed house and fencing valued at £420, to be paid for in terms as stated hereunder.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS.
The selection of Section 3 will be subject to the condition that the successful applicant shall acquire the goodwill of renewable lease of Lot 2 of Section 2, Block VI, Rangiriri Survey District, amounting to £1,230. Term of lease, sixty-six years as from 1st January, 1908; area, 191 acres 3 roods 0·07 perches; capital value, £96; half-yearly rental, £1 18s. 5d. This section adjoins above Section 3. About 138 acres is swamp land, balance in fair and worn-out pasture, subdivided into five paddocks. The improvements comprise about 105 chains fencing, two-roomed whare, one six-bail cow-shed, separator-room, concrete floor and yard, one manure and trap-shed, and piggery. There is also a milking-plant installed, excluded from value of improvements, for which an offer to purchase by the incoming lessee will be considered.
Improvements.—The total value of improvements on Section 3 and goodwill of lease of Lot 2 of Section 2 amount to £1,650, which shall be paid in cash or by a deposit of £160, balance to be secured under one instalment mortgage as follows: Discharged soldier—Term, 36½ years, at 5 per cent. interest; half-yearly instalment, £44 14s. Civilian—Term, 34½ years, at 5½ per cent. interest; half-yearly instalment, £48 8s. 6d. Both subject to rebate of one-tenth interest for prompt payment.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Tauranga County.—Otanewainuku Survey District.—Ohauiti Settlement.
SECTION 14s: Area, 132 acres 2 roods; capital value, £1,100; half-yearly rent, £27 10s.
Weighted with £87 10s., valuation for improvements, comprising 50 chains of fencing and 50 acres grassing.
Situated about ten miles from Tauranga Town, post-office, and railway-station by good formed road, nine miles from dairy factory, and four miles from Ohauiti School. Undulating open fern-land. Soil is light sandy loam, on pumice formation; well watered by creek and springs.
Improvements.—100 chains fencing, valued at £75, included in capital value of land.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Rangitikei County Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the Rangi-waea Scenic Reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Rangitikei County Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—
- The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
