THE MANAWATU BREWERY COMPANY (LIMITED).
IN LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, 41 Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North (Booth MacDonald’s Buildings, upstairs) on Friday, 26th November, 1926, at 1.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—CASHMERE UNEMPLOYMENT LOAN, £1,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, the Heathcote County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest at five and three-quarters per cent. (5¾%) and sinking fund at one per cent. (1%) on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Heathcote County Council under the above-mentioned Acts for roading purposes, the Heathcote County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fortieth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the special rateable area in the Cashmere Riding of the County of Heathcote comprised within the following boundaries:—
Commencing at the junction of the Heathcote River and the north-eastern corner of R.S. 82; thence along eastern, southern, and western boundaries of R.S. 82 to the southern boundary of R.S. 241; thence north-westerly along the southern boundary of R.S. 241 to the north-eastern corner of R.S. 2047; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of R.S. 2047 to its junction with Dyers Pass Road; thence across Dyers Pass Road and along its western side to a point opposite the most western part of R.S. 34654; thence westerly for a distance of 500 links into R.S. 2063; thence following the contour of Dyers Pass Road and Hackthorne Road in a right line to and a distance of 500 links from the said roads in a north-westerly direction through R.S. 2063 to the south-eastern boundary of R.S. 1335; thence south-westerly along the boundary of R.S. 1335 to its most southerly point; thence northerly along the boundaries of R.S. 1335 and R.S. 814 to the Heathcote River; thence along the Heathcote River to the point of commencement:
And that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Manukau County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the formation of a road; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council situate at corner Shortland and Princes Streets, Auckland, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

NOTICE is hereby given under section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a meeting of the shareholders of the above company will be held in the office of Messieurs Fotheringham and Wily, No. 6, National Mutual Life Buildings, Shortland Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, 30th November, 1926, at 7.45 p.m.
Business: To receive the Liquidator’s final report and, if thought fit, to pass a resolution confirming and adopting same.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.
THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the body corporate called “The Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland,” intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of a public work—viz., the provision of a public recreation reserve; and that a plan of the land proposed to be taken is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and may be inspected there without fee during office hours. And further notice is hereby given that unless within forty days from the 13th day of November, 1926, being the date of the first publication of this notice, any written objection to the taking of such land is sent to the Town Clerk, Auckland City Council, the said Auckland City Council shall forthwith proceed to take the said land for such public work.
THE SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land containing 36½ acres, more or less, being part of Allotment 128 of the Parish of Waipareira.

The capital of D. N. ADAMS (LIMITED) henceforth is £2,850 divided into 2,850 shares of £1 each, instead of £10,000 divided into 10,000 shares of £1 each. At the time of the registration of this order the sum of 20s. has been and is to be deemed paid up on each of 2,100 of the said shares, the sum of 2s. has been paid and is to be deemed paid up on each of 500 of the said shares, and the sum of 8s. has been paid and is to be deemed paid up on each of 250 of the said shares.
