Consenting to Bodies Corporate borrowing Money and authorizing
Payment to Committees of Management.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of November, 1926.
Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section three hundred and thirty-five of
the Native Land Act, 1909, it is provided that, with
the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, a
body corporate constituted under Part XVII of the said Act
may, on the security of a mortgage or charge of the land
vested in it, borrow money for any of the purposes therein
mentioned:
And whereas the bodies corporate constituted as aforesaid
described in the Schedule hereto have applied for the pre-
cedent consent of the Governor-General in Council accordingly,
and also that consent be given to any money so borrowed
being paid to the committees of management of such bodies
corporate:
And whereas the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board
has recommended that such consent be granted, and it seems
expedient so to do:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby, pursuant to section three hundred and thirty-five of
the Native Land Act, 1909, and all other powers him enabling,
grant precedent consent to the said bodies corporate, on the
security of a mortgage or charge of the land vested in them,
borrowing from a State Loan Department or from any person
or body corporate, whether by cash credit in current account
with a bank or otherwise, for the purpose of enabling the
said bodies corporate to further improve and more efficiently
farm the lands of the said bodies corporate, the sums set out
hereunder opposite the name of each such body corporate; and
doth authorize the payment of any money so borrowed to the
committees of management of the said bodies corporate; and
doth consent to any instrument of alienation by way of mort-
gage of the lands of the said bodies corporate given in pursuance
of this Order in Council being confirmed by the Tairawhiti
District Maori Land Board.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of November, 1926.
Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made under section
twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919,
for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council
to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the
Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is
expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter
mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the
Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in
Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the
Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent
of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said
loans.

Hauraki Plains County Council (for the construction
of roads in the Tahuna Riding)
Hastings Borough Council (for surfacing streets and
constructing footpaths)
Hastings Borough Council (for purchasing electrical
appliances)
Hastings Borough Council (for piping certain open
drains)
Hastings Borough Council (for sewerage and water
works)
Matamata Town Board (for the erection of municipal
buildings)
Masterton County Council (for providing a worker's
dwelling)
Matakaoa County Council (for providing a worker's
dwelling)
Ohura County Council (for reforming, culverting, and
metalling a portion of Tongaporutu-Mangaroa
Road)
Ohura County Council (for metalling portions of the
Ohura-Mokau Road)
Ohura County Council (for widening, culverting, and
metalling the Harvey-Tokarima, Aorangi, Koko-
puiti, and Turoto Roads)
Pigeon Bay Road Board (for road-construction)
Rodney County Council (for bridge-construction)
St. Kilda Borough Council (for street-improvements)
Wairarapa Electric-power Board (for electric works
in the Ponatahi Special-rating Area)
Wairarapa Electric-power Board (for electric works
in the Ahiaruhe Special-rating Area)
Whangarei Borough Council (for constructing con-
veniences at Kensington Park)

Consenting to the Raising of £15,000, being the Balance of a
Loan of £40,000 authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu
Borough Council on the Instalment System, extending over
a Period of 36½ Years.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.
WHEREAS section thirty-two of the Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1926, provides that where any local
authority has heretofore been or shall hereafter be authorized
to raise a loan, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or
otherwise, and whether such loan has been raised in part or
not, such local authority may, with the consent of the Gover-
nor-General in Council, raise such loan or any part thereof
upon terms of making the same, together with interest thereon,
repayable by instalments extending over such period of
years, whether in excess of the period mentioned in the
poll taken on the proposal for such loan or not, and payable
at such times as may be fixed by such local authority, and
may permanently appropriate and pledge for the purpose
of securing such instalments any special rate already made
or hereafter to be made or any part of such special rate:
And whereas the Te Awamutu Borough Council has been
authorized to borrow the sum of forty thousand pounds for
the construction of streets, and is now desirous of raising the
sum of fifteen thousand pounds, being the balance of the
said loan of forty thousand pounds:
And whereas application has been made by the aforesaid
Borough Council for the consent of His Excellency the
Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said fifteen
thousand pounds on the instalment system extending over a
period of thirty-six and a half years:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the Te Awamutu Borough Council
raising the sum of fifteen thousand pounds upon terms of
making the same, together with interest thereon, repayable
by instalments extending over a period of thirty-six and a
half years, and the said Te Awamutu Borough Council is
hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of fifteen thousand
pounds on these terms.
