Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Napier.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 22nd October, 1926.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the areas described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Borough of Napier, and excluded from the County of Hawke’s Bay. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF NAPIER.
ALL that parcel of land bounded as follows: commencing on the north-west intersection of Ellison Street and the railway reserve at the present borough boundary, and proceeding in a southerly direction across Ellison Street and along the western boundary of the railway reserve for a distance of 4828·4 links on bearing 181° 20′ 42″; thence continuing along same railway reserve boundary for a distance of 951·6 links on bearing 181° 32′ 17″; thence in a westerly direction across Hastings Street south and along stop-bank for a distance of 445·0 links on bearing 284°; thence in a northerly direction along stop-bank for a distance of approximately 1260 links on approximate bearing of 359°; thence following the south-west boundary of the Boys’ High School Block in a westerly and then a north-westerly direction for a distance of 2045·4 links; thence leaving the school boundary, and proceeding for distance of 100 links on bearing 298° 3′; thence north-east (on a line parallel with Tutaekuri River) for a distance of 1914 links on a bearing of 28° 3′; thence for a distance of 150 links on approximate bearing of 1° 30′ across the reserve to the north of the High School Block to the south-west corner of Chambers Street; thence following the western side of Chambers Street to its junction with Georges Drive at the existing borough boundary; and thence following the existing borough boundary by way of Georges Drive and Ellison Street back to the commencement.
And also all that parcel of land bounded as follows: commencing on the existing borough boundary at the south-east corner of the intersection of Hyderabad and Taradale Roads and proceeding along the eastern side of the Taradale Road for an approximate distance of 1060 links on a bearing of 223° 34′ 30″; thence along the stop-bank on the north-east side of the Tutaekuri River, 930 links, on bearing 129°; thence 180 links on bearing 122°; thence 290 links on bearing 109° 30′; thence 2200 links on bearing 94° to a point on the existing borough boundary on the south-west side of Georges Drive directly opposite the northern side of Winifred Street; thence following the existing borough boundary by way of Georges Drive and Hyderabad Road back to the commencement.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Borough of Upper Hutt, and excluded from the County of Hutt. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being parts Sections 95, 98A, 98B, 99, 102A, 103, 207, and Sections 273 and 274, Hutt District, situated in Block I, Rimutaka Survey District, and being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Volumes 142/29, 255/5, 256/32, and 290/76, and containing by admeasurement 342 acres 3 roods 6·9 perches.

I, ROY FELLOWES BAIRD, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Poverty Bay Motor Association (Incorporated) is defunct and has ceased operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

River Thames or Waiho (Waihou) River.—Kirikiri Bridge under Construction.
INFORMATION is hereby given that at a position about 530 ft. above Kopu Wharf a road-traffic bridge across Waihou River is under construction.
During the construction two fixed red lights, horizontally disposed, will be exhibited between sunset and sunrise, one each on the outermost down-stream and the outermost upstream edge of the work.
All vessels must pass westward of the two red lights.
Attention is drawn to the provisions of Regulation No. 34 of Schedule A, “General Harbour Regulations,” which require that—
“Steamships about to pass any dredging-machine at work in any harbour, or any licensed ferry, or public work in progress, must slow their engines at such a distance before approaching any such dredge, ferry, or work to ensure their passing it at a speed not greater than dead-slow.”
