the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of

THE COMPANIES ACT, 1908.

In the matter of SMITH AND SMITH SAWMILLING COMPANY
(LIMITED), a Private Company.

AT a meeting of the shareholders of the above-named
company held on the 8th day of September, 1926,
at 104 Gloucester Street, Christchurch, the following resolution
was passed :—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that
Mr. SETON KELLAWAY and Mr. E. W. SMITH be appointed
Liquidators for the purposes of the winding-up.”

BOROUGH OF ST. KILDA.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the St.
Kilda Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges and sinking fund on a loan of £25,000, authorized to
be raised by the St. Kilda Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act, for street-improvements, the said St. Kilda
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
one penny and one-tenth of a penny (1·1d.) in the pound upon
the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of
St. Kilda, comprising the whole of the said borough; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of

December and 1st day of June in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.

PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Pigeon
Bay Road Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Pigeon Bay
Road Board loan of £2,500, 1926, authorized to be raised by
the Pigeon Bay Road Board under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of road-construction, and the said Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh (1/11th)
of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the
basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the
whole of the Pigeon Bay Road District; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

SPECIAL ORDER.—1927 IMPROVEMENT LOAN, £27,000.

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 55 of
the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and all other powers it enabling, the
Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves, by way of
special order,—

First, To raise a loan of £27,000 for the purpose of providing
moneys to be used for the improvement of the present under-
taking of the Board, which improvement includes—New
electric-car bodies, electrifying trailers and converting to one-
man cars, buses and garage additions, Antigua Street and
Stanmore Road loops, siding to Bexley Dump, moveable-
track turn-outs, Fordson tractor and trucks, exchange of land
with Gas Company, car-shed improvements (heating, fire-
prevention, truck-pits, timber-ranks), and other contingencies
relating to the general improvement of the Board’s under-
taking.

Second, That the said sum of £27,000 shall be repayable on
the first day of October, 1934, or such earlier date as may be
determined by the Board.

Third, That, for the purpose of providing interest and
sinking fund on the said loan of £27,000, the Board hereby
makes and levies a special rate of twenty-four thousandths
parts of a penny (0·024d.) in the pound upon the capital value
of all rateable property in the Christchurch Tramway District;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of the loan, and be payable on the 1st
day of April in each year during the currency of the loan,
being the period of eight years, or such shorter period as may
be determined by the Board, or until the loan is fully paid off.
It is not proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the
loan nor the interest and sinking fund for the first year.

TAKE notice that a general meeting of the above-named
company, in liquidation, shall be held at the offices
of Messrs Ready and Duthie, Solicitors, National Bank
Chambers, Shortland Street, Auckland, at 2,30 o’clock in
the afternoon of Thursday, the 28th day of October, 1926,
for the purpose of laying the Liquidator’s account before
such meeting, and of offering an explanation of the winding-
up.
