Property is situated about six miles from Parua Bay on the Waipareira-Taheke Road, which is formed and partly metalled. There are about 10 acres of flat land, scattered over the section, the balance being hilly to broken. About 15 acres are in fair grass, 100 fern and rough feed, 34 acres grassed but now gone back to tea-tree, balance mixed bush consisting of taraire, rata, cedar, totara, rimu, and a few scattered kauris. Soil is fair clay on blue-rock formation, well watered by several good streams. There are 145 chains road fencing in good order, 34 chains poor, and 140 chains subdivisional and boundary fencing, good to fair order. Suitable for grazing.

Section 280: Situated on the back Ridge Road between Albany and Riverhead. Access is from Albany, which is about six miles distant; nearest school and store at Fernlea, four miles away. The soil is of poor clay, resting on clay formation. Watered by swamps. The section comprises steep to broken land with just a little level land adjoining the road.

Section 284: Situated on the back Ridge Road between Albany and Riverhead. Access from Albany six miles distant; nearest school and store at Fernlea, four miles away. The soil is of poor clay, resting on clay formation. Watered by swamps. The section comprises poor broken land of which a small area on the top end towards the trig. station could be ploughed. Very poor section, exposed to all cold winds.
Section 285: Situated on the Ridge Road, about four miles from Albany Post-office and about three miles from Riverhead; nearest school and store at Riverhead. The soil is of clay and patches of light loam resting on clay formation. Well watered by creeks. The section comprises undulating land, mostly ploughable. In manuka-scrub. All unimproved.

Opening Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
(Exempt from Rent for Ten Years.)
Murchison County.—Maruia Survey District.
SECTION 1, Block IV: Area, 315 acres 2 roods 29 perches; capital value, £240; half-yearly rent, £4 16s.
Situated eight miles from Murchison, near the mouth of the Maruia River, seven miles and a half of good metalled road, balance rough track. About 120 acres have been felled and grassed, but now in fern, remainder of section bushclad. Fair area of flat land, remainder easy country. Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,300 ft. above sea-level. Small hut on property.

SECTION 9, Block VI: Area, 728 acres; capital value, £365; half-yearly rent, £7 6s.
Weighted with £884 17s. 6d., valuation for improvements (consisting of 265 acres felled and grassed, 110 chains of fencing, whare, and iron shed), payable in cash.
Situated at Marahau, four miles from Sandy Bay and twelve miles from Riwaka by road and beach and rough pack-track for two miles. About 165 acres in good pasture, 100 acres in poor pasture running to fern, balance bush consisting principally of birch with a sprinkling of rimu, tawhero, mountain rata, &c. Medium undergrowth. Altitude, 1,900 to 2,000 ft. above sea-level. General quality of section is good.

Opening Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the 7th day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Wairoa County.—Mahanga Survey District.
SECTION 37, Block V: Area, 30 acres. Capital value, £110. Deferred payment: Deposit, £5; half-yearly instalment, £3 8s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 4s.
The section has originally been cleared and grassed, but it is now mostly covered with tauhine and manuka, fair amount of blackberry. The soil is fairly good, resting on a clay and papa subsoil. Situated about five miles from Opoutama Post-office (Waikokopu Harbour). The improvements included in the capital value consist of 21 chains (approximately), half share of boundary fencing, valued at £21.
