Wilford Settlement is situated in the eastern part of the Borough of Petone, and is only two or three minutes from the new Cuba Street Railway-station, which will be about fifteen minutes’ journey from Wellington by rail. There is every reason to believe that this section of the railway will be in operation for passenger traffic at an early date.
The sections now offered are admirably situated for residential purposes. The soil is of rich alluvial nature suitable for all kinds of gardening.
The roads (now in the course of construction) are being formed under the supervision of the Borough Engineer, and are being kept somewhat below the level of the sections to provide for better drainage. Sewerage, storm-water drainage, and high-pressure water-supply will also be provided, whilst electric lighting and gas will be available.
Provision has been made for a school in this part of the borough, and an area of 5 acres has been set aside for this purpose. It is the intention of the Education Board to proceed with the erection of the school almost immediately.
Sale plans and full particulars may be obtained on application to this office.

Commissioner of Crown Lands.
