REPORT on the Vital Statistics of the Urban Areas of the Dominion for the Month of September, 1926:—

The total births registered for the urban areas amounted to 1,128, as against 1,149 in August—a decrease of 21. The deaths in September were 609—a decrease of 63 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 349, females 260. Seventy-five of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 12·32 per cent. of the whole number. Fifty-six of these were under one year of age.

The equivalent annual rates per 1,000 of mean population for September, 1926, and nine months ended September, 1926, were as follows. The infantile-mortality rate per 100 births for the same period is also given.
