Captain J. Hunter (2nd C. Battalion) resigns his commission. Dated 16th September, 1926.
Lieutenant C. H. McDonald (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 24th September, 1926.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) T. M. McDonald, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), with seniority as from the 17th July, 1925, and is seconded for service with the 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 20th September, 1926.
N.Z. Medical Corps.
The notices published in the New Zealand Gazette Nos. 116/1919, 70/1921, and 39/1922, relative to Captain S. H. Ward, M.R.C.S., Eng., are cancelled, and the following substituted for that published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 116/1919—
“Captain S. H. Ward, M.R.C.S., Eng., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, dated 18th September, 1919, and is reposted to the N.Z. Medical Corps with the rank of Captain, with seniority as from the 1st February, 1916.”

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Eden held on the 15th day of September, 1926, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £110,000 for—
The permanent construction of roads in cement concrete or bituminous concrete, and the construction of footpaths, including the moving and replacement of water-mains where required .. £ 87,500
Provision of fire-alarm system and second motor .. 3,000
Purchase of road-sweeper .. .. .. 1,500

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Longbush Special-rating Area taken on the 11th day of September, 1926, on the proposal of the Wairarapa Electric power Board to borrow the sum of £3,500 for the purpose of providing additional funds for works, buildings, land, and equipment necessary in connection with the generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy within the Wairarapa Electric-power District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 17: the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Levin and Foxton Fire Boards.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, Richard Francis Bollard, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Friday, the 22nd October, 1926, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Levin and Foxton Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Herbert Filmer.

Redefining Boundaries of City of Christchurch.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the boundaries of the City of Christchurch are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said city having been altered by Proclamation made under the said Act dated the 10th day of July, 1922, and gazetted on the 13th day of the said month, and also by Orders in Council made under the said Act dated the 17th day of January, 1923, and 19th day of February, 1923, and gazetted on the 25th day of January, 1923, and 22nd day of February, 1923, respectively; and also, pursuant to the provisions of the said section, the boundaries of the Borough of Riccarton are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Proclamation made under the said Act dated the 24th day of March, 1923, and gazetted on the 29th day of the same month; and, further, the boundaries of the counties of Heathcote and Waimairi, affected by the aforesaid alterations of boundaries, are hereby defined as set out in the Third and Fourth Schedules hereto respectively.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 112 and the north-eastern side of Langdon’s Road, and proceeding thence south-easterly along the said north-eastern side of Langdon’s Road to the north-western side of Main North Road; north-easterly along that side of road to the centre of the Papanui Drain; thence south-easterly along the centre of that drain through Rural Sections 308 and 1048 to the south-western boundary of said Rural Section 1048; south-easterly along that boundary to and along the north-eastern side of Rutland Road to and across McFadden’s Road, along the southern side of McFadden’s Road to and across Innes Road, and along the south-eastern side of that road to Rural Section 345A; thence along the south-western boundaries of Rural Sections 345A and 2795 to Shirley’s Road; thence along the south-western side of Shirley’s Road to its junction with Hill’s Road; thence easterly along the middle of Shirley’s Road to Marshland Road, and along the middle of that road to Bank’s Avenue; thence along the middle of Bank’s Avenue and Dudley Creek Road to a point opposite the confluence of Dudley Creek and the River Avon; thence across that river and along its right bank to the western side of Kerr’s Road, and along the western side of that road
