Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Taurikura Public Hall Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of October, 1926.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a public hall: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely:—
Frederick Thompson Going,
Duncan Kenneth Vinson,
Leonard Kenneth Harnett, and
Murdoch McKenzie,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Taurikura Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Saturday in each month at ten o'clock a.m. at the office of Messrs. Bannister and Lamb, Solicitors, Whangarei, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at meeting.

The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Taurikura and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 32.7 perches, more or less, being Lot 3, D.P. 17413, being part of Allotment 15, Manaia Parish, Whangarei County. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 22/3583, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Putaruru Town District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Alfred Henry Dukeson, Esquire, of Putaruru,
to be Returning Officer and person to prepare the roll of electors for the first election of a Board of seven Commissioners for the Putaruru Town District; also to appoint Tuesday, the 2nd day of November, 1926, as the day, and the Putaruru Public Hall as the place, for holding such first election; and also to appoint Friday, the 5th day of November, 1926, at 7.30 o'clock in the afternoon, as the time, and the aforesaid Putaruru Public Hall as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board of Commissioners so elected.
