Altering Boundaries of Sluggish River and Oroua Drainage Districts, County of Manawatu.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of October, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Manawatu, and forming part of the Oroua Drainage District, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in the said area be excluded from the said Oroua Drainage District and included in the Sluggish River Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage districts in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said Oroua and Sluggish River Drainage Districts shall be altered by excluding from the said Oroua Drainage District, and including in the said Sluggish River Drainage District, the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said Sluggish River Drainage District, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto; and doth hereby further declare that the boundaries of the said Oroua Drainage District, with such exclusion as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM OROUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 142, Township of Carnarvon Registration District, Block XI, Te Kauwau Survey District, thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 142, 147, 366, and 148, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along Taikoria Road, being the south-western boundaries of Sections 148, 149, 150, and 157, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the Carnarvon-Sandon Tramway, forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 157, 155, 154, 151, 146, 143, and 139, Township of Carnarvon, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-easterly along the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 139, 140, 141, and 142, Township of Carnarvon aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Oroua River in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 14, Block VIII, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence by a line down the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern side of the Foxton-Palmerston North Railway Reserve; thence to and along that boundary to the south-western boundary of Section 319, Block XV, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence along the western boundary of the said Section 319 to its north-western corner; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Section 319 aforesaid to the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on plan 3706 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Lots 1 and 2 on plan 3706 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid to the road forming the western boundary of Lot 123 on plan 519 deposited as aforesaid; thence northerly along that road to the Taikoria Road; thence north-westerly along Taikoria Road, being the south-western boundaries of Sections 148, 149, 150, and 157, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the Carnarvon-Sandon Tramway forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 157, 155, 154, 151, 146, 143, and 139, Township of Carnarvon, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence easterly along the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 139 aforesaid, to its intersection with the road forming the south-western boundary of Section 56, Block XI aforesaid; thence south-easterly along that road to the stream forming the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 56; thence north-easterly generally along that stream to the north-eastern corner of Section 38, Block VIII, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence by a right line across a public road to the south-western corner of Section 25, Block VIII aforesaid; thence northerly along the road forming the western boundary of Section 25 aforesaid, to its intersection with the road forming the northern boundary of Section 20, Block VIII aforesaid; thence easterly along that road to the Oroua River at the easternmost corner of Section 14, Block VIII aforesaid; thence by a right line to the middle of that river, the point of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

OROUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Oroua River in line with the eastern boundary of Section 11s, Kopane Settlement, Block VIII, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence down the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern side of the road forming the south-western boundary of the said Section 13; thence to and along the southern side of that road to the north-western corner of Section 20A, Block VIII aforesaid; thence southerly along the eastern side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 24 and 65, Block VIII aforesaid, to a public road; thence across that road, and south-westerly generally along the stream forming the north-western and western boundaries of Sections 37, 36, and 35, Block VIII aforesaid, Sections 34 and 33, Block XII, and Sections 57 and 58, Block XI, Te Kauwau Survey District, to the road forming the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along that road to the road forming the northern boundary of Section 106, Block XI, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence westerly along that road to the road forming the western boundary of Section 123, Block VI, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence northerly along that road to the southern boundary of Section 117, Block VI, aforesaid; thence westerly along that boundary to the south-western corner of the said Section 117; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 108 and 83, Block VI aforesaid, to the road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence westerly along that road to the western boundary of Section 68, Block VI aforesaid; thence along the western and northern boundaries of the said Section 68, the western boundaries of Sections 44, 43, 40, and 39, Block II, Te Kauwau Survey District, to the road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section; thence easterly along that road to the road forming the western boundaries of Sections 37, 36, and 34, Block III, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence northerly along that road to the north-western corner of the said Section 34; thence along the northern boundary of Section 34, the western boundary of Section 1, and the northern boundaries of Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block III aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 3 aforesaid, to a point about 48 chains from its north-eastern corner; thence easterly along a line parallel to the southern boundary of Section 4, Block III aforesaid, to the road forming the western boundary of Section 5 of the said Block III; thence by a right line to a point on the eastern boundary-line of Section 5, distant about 20 chains from its south-eastern corner; thence by a right line running parallel to the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 6, 7, and 8, Block III aforesaid, to the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; thence by that boundary-line to the south-western corner of Section 11, Block VII, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of that section, the crossing of a road, the southern boundary of Section 16, and the western boundary of Section 19, Block VIII, Te Kauwau Survey District, to a point on the western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section, distant about 15 chains from its south-western corner; thence by a right line running parallel to the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections 19, 20, 21, and 22 to the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to a point on the north-western boundary-line of Allotment 1 of Section 384, distant about 27 chains from its south-western corner; thence along the road forming the north-western boundary of that Allotment to Section 304, Block IV, Te Kauwau Survey District; thence along the
