THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Wellington Regiment.

Captain J. R. Sutcliffe ceases to be seconded to the 1st C. Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 23rd August, 1926.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant R. J. McDermott (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 24th August, 1926.

The Taranaki Regiment.

Lieutenant C. Harrison (2nd C. Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 8. Dated 25th August, 1926.

The Canterbury Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant J. Nicol (3rd C. Battalion) is transferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. Dated 11th August, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant C. L. King (4th C. Battalion) is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 26th August, 1926.

Lieutenant E. L. Lloyd (2nd C. Battalion) is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 23rd August, 1926.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant R. W. Connor, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 25th August, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant J. Nicol, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 18th February, 1924, and is seconded for service with the 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 11th August, 1926.

The Otago Regiment.

Major A. S. Falconer, D.S.O., M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Major, 1st Battalion. Dated 2nd August, 1926.

Lieutenant E. L. Lloyd, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant with seniority as from the 2nd May, 1925, and is seconded for service with the 4th C. Battalion. Dated 23rd August, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant C. L. King, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 22nd November, 1921, and is seconded for service with the 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 26th August, 1926.

Lieutenant R. P. K. Kania, from the Otago Regiment, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 27th October, 1924.

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of the Deputy Governor-General’s despatch No. 83 of the 10th of May, and to request Your Excellency to inform your Ministers that His Majesty the King has been pleased to approve of the retention of the title “Honourable” by Sir Christopher James Parr, K.C.M.G., who has served for a period of more than three years as a member of the Executive Council of the Dominion of New Zealand.

A notification to this effect will be published in the London Gazette.

First Meeting of the recently constituted Waipukurau Fire Board.

IN accordance with the provisions of section 36, subsection (6), of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the first meeting of the Waipukurau Fire Board will be held at the Borough Council Chambers, Waipukurau, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, 13th September, 1926.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of Less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Penrose Extension No. 43 affecting part Allotment 1 of Section 17, Suburbs of Auckland, and prepared by Edward Vincent Blake, Licensed Surveyor, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the road shown therein (Bassant Road) should be of the width of 66 ft.

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Donald McLeod, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of such road of a width of 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under my hand this 7th day of September, 1926.
