And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Waimarino County Council in respect of the said loan of seven hundred and fifty pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Waimarino County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of seven hundred and fifty pounds accordingly.

WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, and its amendments, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Waimarino County Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of five thousand pounds for the survey and acquisition of lands, and the erection of workers' dwellings thereon:

Permitting Importation of Certain Seeds from the United States of America under Conditions prescribed. C. 42.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of August, 1926.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and gazetted on the sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, the importation of oats, barley, maize, hay, straw, and chaff from the United States of America and from certain other places was prohibited:
And whereas by Orders in Council made on the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and gazetted on the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, respectively, the prohibition was extended by prohibiting to the extent specified therein the importation from the United States of America of plants, portions of plants, all grain and farm produce, and certain other goods:
And whereas it is now deemed expedient to amend the said Orders in Council to enable certain seeds to be imported under the conditions set out below:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, as amended by the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said Orders in Council in so far as they relate to the importation of the following seeds from the United States of America—namely, flower, vegetable, grass, clover, and tree seeds (but not including oats, barley, maize, wheat, or other grain), and doth hereby prohibit the importation from the United States of America of the following seeds—namely, flower, vegetable, grass, clover, and tree seeds (but not including oats, barley, maize, wheat, or other grain)—unless the following conditions are complied with:
(a.) That, if the said seeds were grown in States other than the States of California and Texas, a certificate signed by the consignor showing the State in which the said seeds were grown is produced to the Collector of Customs:
(b.) That, if the said seeds were grown in the State of California or in the State of Texas, a certificate signed by the consignor to the effect that the said seeds were grown in California or in Texas, as the case may be, but that they were not harvested prior to the 1st day of April, 1926, is produced to the Collector of Customs.

The Eastern Side of Portion of Happy Valley Road, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1926.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, the Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six viz.:-
"The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the eastern side of all that portion of Happy Valley Road, beginning at its junction with Butt Street, and extending for a distance of approximately 114.77 links, being the part of road fronting Lot 2 (D.P. 52), part of Section 15, Ohiro Registration District, Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the eastern side of the portion of Happy Valley Road (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
SCHEDULE.
The eastern side of all that portion of street, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Happy Valley Road, fronting Lot 2 (D.P. 52), Township of Vogeltown. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 66401, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.
