been appointed to be the Deputies of the Registrars of
Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the districts set

Appointments in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments in the New
Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:-

Commander Frederick Cyril Bradley, R.N., to H.M.S.
“Philomel”(additional), and to that ship as Commander-in-command, Superintendent of Base, and Director of
Naval Recruiting, vice Miles, on relieving him.

Commander Arthur Ronald Farquhar, D.S.C., R.N., to
H.M.S. “Dunedin”(additional), and to that ship as
Squadron Navigating Officer, vice Barcroft, on relieving
him.

Lieutenant Commander Roger Prideaux Selby, R.N., to
H.M.S. “Dunedin”(additional), and to that ship as
Squadron Gunnery Officer, vice Edwards, on relieving
him.

Lieutenant Ronald Alistair Macdonald, R.N., to H.M.
Trawler “Wakakura,” in command for passage to
New Zealand, and, on arrival, to H.M.S. “Dunedin”as
Squadron Torpedo Officer, vice Vaughan, on relieving
him.

Lieutenant Commander Claud Boothby Graham-Watson,
D.S.O., R.N., to H.M.S. “Dunedin”(additional), and
to that ship vice Tollemache, on relieving him.

Lieutenant John Henry Venville, R.N., to H.M.S.
“Dunedin”(additional), and to that ship, vice Thomas,
on relieving him.

Lieutenant Alexander Herbert Bramley Atkinson, R.N., to
H.M. Trawler “Wakakura,” as executive officer for
passage to New Zealand, and, on arrival, to H.M.S.
“Dunedin,”vice Woodrooffe, on relieving him.

Engineer Commander Frederick William Gordon Smith,
R.N., to H.M.S “Diomede” on commissioning, and as
Squadron Engineer Officer, to date 25th January, 1926,
and to H.M.S. “Dunedin” as Squadron Engineer Officer
on turning over.

Engineer Commander Ralph Myddelton Jones, R.N., to
H.M.S. “Diomede”(additional), and to that ship vice
Smith, on relieving him.

Captain John Arthur Bath, D.S.C., R.N., to H.M.S.
“Dunedin”as Squadron Royal Marine Officer, to date
21st January, 1926.

Paymaster Lieutenant Commander Charles Assheton Bowen,
R.N., to H.M.S. “Philomel ”(additional), and to that
ship for accountant duties, vice Lloyd, on relieving him.

Paymaster Lieutenant Raymond Frank Pink, R.N., to
H.M.S “Dunedin”(additional), and to that ship vice
Prophit on relieving him.

Commissioned Gunner Henry Melville, R.N., to H.M.S.
“Philomel”for H.M. Trawler “Wakakura,” in com-
mand on arrival of that vessel in New Zealand.

Gunner (T) Richard Harold Shipcott, R.N., to H.M.S.
“Diomede”(additional), for passage to New Zealand,
and, on arrival, to H.M.S. “Dunedin”for torpedo duties,
vice Deverell.

Gunner (T) Ernest Arthur Deverill, R.N., to H.M.S.
“Philomel,”for torpedo duties, vice Hale, on being re-
lieved in H.M.S. “Dunedin.”

Special Order made by the Uawa County Council altering
Riding Boundaries.

Wellington, 28th January, 1926.

THE following special order, made by the Uawa County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Act, 1920.

Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by sec-
tion 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby
fix the 31st day of March, 1926, as the date from which the
special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE UAWA COUNTY COUNCIL
ALTERING RIDINGS.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Counties Act, 1920, the Uawa County Council
here, by special order, resolves as follows :-

  1. On and after the 1st day of April, 1926, the Mangatuna
    Riding of the county shall be subdivided into two new ridings,
    to be known as the Mangatuna Riding and the Mangaheia
    Riding respectively.

  2. The boundaries of the said ridings shall be as follows:-

Mangatuna Riding.-All that area situated in the Gisborne
Land District commencing at Koangaumu on the sea-coast
in Block IV, Uawa Survey District, proceeding in a south-
westerly direction by the southern boundary of the Waiapu
County to the centre of the Uawa River, and which follows
the description as contained in New Zealand Statute, 1919,
pages 302 and 303; thence generally in a southerly direction
down the centre of the aforesaid Uawa River to the northern
boundary of the Tolaga Riding ; thence in a north-easterly
direction by the northern boundary of the aforesaid Tolaga
Riding to the sea-coast, and which follows the description
as contained in New Zealand Gazette, 1919, page 1241 ; thence
generally in a northerly direction along the sea-shore to the
starting-point.

Mangaheia Riding.-All that area situated in the Gisborne
Land District commencing in the centre of the Uawa River
at the north-west corner of the Mangatuna Riding (herein-
before described), in Block III, Uawa Survey District, pro-
ceeding in a north-westerly direction generally by the southern
boundary of the Waiapu County until it intersects the north-
eastern boundary of the Tauwhareparae Riding, and which
follows the description as contained in the New Zealand
Statute, 1919, pages 302 and 303 ; thence generally in a
south-easterly direction by the north-eastern boundary of the
aforesaid Tauwhareparae Riding, by the northern boundary
of the Arakihi Riding to the centre of the Uawa River, and
which follows the description as contained in the New Zea-
land Gazette, 1919, page 1241 ; thence in a northerly direction
up to the centre of the aforesaid Uawa River to the starting-
point.

  1. Each of such new ridings shall elect one Councillor to the
    Uawa County Council.

Special Order made by the Oroua County Council altering
Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Oroua County
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Act, 1920.

Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by sec-
tion 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby
fix the 31st day of March, 1926, as the date from which the
special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER.

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the
Counties Act, 1920, the Oroua County Council resolves by
way of special order as follows:-

  1. The present division of the County of Oroua into seven
    ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be
    divided into two ridings, to be called respectively the Eastern
    Riding and the Western Riding, which said ridings are re-
    spectively described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The said Oroua County Council shall consist of seven
    members, who shall be elected as follows:-

(a.) The electors of the Eastern Riding shall elect three
Councillors.

(b.) The electors of the Western Riding shall elect four
Councillors.

  1. The alteration hereby made shall take effect on a date
    to be fixed in that behalf by the Minister of Internal Affairs
    and notified in the Gazette.

Schedule.

(a.) The Eastern Riding hereinbefore referred to shall
include all that portion of the Oroua County as at present
existing lying generally to the south-east of the Oroua River,
the said river forming the boundary between the said Eastern
Riding and the Western Riding hereinafter described.
