Land permanently reserved.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by Warrant dated the twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and published in Gazette of the twenty-ninth day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes, for which the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 17·6 perches, more or less, being a strip of Crown land situated in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District, and lying between the high-water mark of Port Nicholson Harbour and the Marine Parade, Township of Seatoun. Bounded by a line commencing at the north-east angle of the junction of the Marine Parade and Hector Street and proceeding in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern side of the said Marine Parade and the production thereof to the high-water mark of Port Nicholson Harbour for distances of 262·71 links and 378·11 links; thence in a south-easterly direction by the said high-water mark to a point in line with the eastern side of Hector Street; thence in a south-westerly direction by a right line bearing 198° 36′ 30″, for a distance of 227·04 links, to the point of commencement; as the same is delineated on plan numbered 258/38, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon coloured red.

Trustees for the Parkhurst Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a certain Warrant dated the ninth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, appointing trustees for the Parkhurst Public Cemetery, and in lieu thereof do here appoint

Thomas Ashby Craven,
John Blashfield Evans,
Robert Ferrall,
Arthur William Harris, and
Harold Philip McLeod

to be trustees to have the maintenance and care of the Parkhurst Cemetery as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

PARKHURST PUBLIC CEMETERY.—NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 2A, Block XIII, Kaipara Survey District: Area, 6 acres 1 rood 17 perches more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 27th day of January, 1926.

Trustees for the Pembroke Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section four of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a certain Warrant dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, appointing trustees for the Pembroke Public Cemetery, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint

David Matheson,
Thomas Pearce,
James Perrow,
William Abraham Studholme,
Charles Templeton, and
Walter Henry Thomson

to be trustees to have the maintenance and care of the Pembroke Cemetery as described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

PEMBROKE PUBLIC CEMETERY.—OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 3 perches, more or less, being part of Section 1, Block XLVIII, Town of Pembroke, and bounded as follows: towards the north-west by other part of said Section 1, Block XLVIII, Town of Pembroke, 1000 links; towards the south-west by Section 2, Block III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, 299·1 links; towards the south-east by part of said Section 2, Block III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, 1000 links; and towards the north-east by Stone Street, 304·9 links. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/405, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 38 perches, more or less, being part of Section 2, Block III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and bounded as follows: towards the north-west by Section 1, Block XLVIII, Town of Pembroke, 1000 links; towards the south-west by Section 2, Block III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, 686·2 links; towards the south-east by said Section 2, 1150·9 links; and towards the north-west generally by Stone Street, 229 links and 514 links. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/405, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged yellow.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 27th day of January, 1926.

Appointing a Member of the Otago Harbour Board.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty-seven of the Harbours Act, 1923, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand delivered to the Chairman or Secretary of the Board.

And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section thirty-eight of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section thirty-seven the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:

And whereas James Alexander Roberts, an elective member of the Otago Harbour Board, being a representative of the payers of harbour dues on ships, has resigned his office as aforesaid, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person as a representative of such payers of harbour dues on ships, in his place:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the herein-before-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

Deane Frederick Henry Sharpe

to be a member of the Otago Harbour Board as a representative of the payers of harbour dues on ships, in the place of the said James Alexander Roberts, resigned:
