to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, and an Inspector for the purposes of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1908, as from the 23rd day of August, 1926.
Alfred Ernest Reynolds, Esq.,
to be Official Assignee at Timaru for the Supreme Court District of Canterbury for the purpose of the Bankruptcy Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of September, 1926.
Frank Mitchell, Esq.,
to be Official Assignee at Nelson for the Supreme Court District of Nelson for the purposes of the Bankruptcy Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of September, 1926.
Lorenza Bernhardine Henrietta Carriage (Mrs.)
to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Ahaura, as from the 1st day of September, 1926.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921-22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed
David O'Donoghue,
of the Public Trust Office, Palmerston North, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Palmerston North, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters, and all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.

Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the Staff and N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Staff and N.Z. Military Forces.

COMMANDS.
Lieut.-Colonel C. E. Butcher (Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment) relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 9. Dated 5th August, 1926.
Major G. H. Gray, M.C. (Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment), is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 6th August, 1926.
Major M. R. Aldridge (N.Z. Corps of Signals) relinquishes command of the Central Depot, N.Z. Corps of Signals. Dated 30th May, 1926.

STAFF.
The undermentioned officers of the British Army arrived in the Dominion on 3rd August from India on exchange, and are granted local rank in the N.Z. Permanent Forces as stated with seniority as from the dates shown, and have taken up the appointments stated against their names:—
Captain A. S. Hooper (the Wiltshire Regiment), 18th November, 1914, Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, Christchurch.
Captain G. Mcl. S. Bruce, M.C. (the Lincolnshire Regiment), 23rd October, 1921, Assistant Area Officer, Area 5A, Wellington.
Lieutenant S. Gibbons (the Durham Light Infantry), 27th August, 1917, Area Officer, Area 6B, and Adjutant, 6th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Manawatu), Palmerston North.

8TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NELSON).
Captain J. D. McArthur, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain. Dated 4th August, 1926.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Captain A. A. Currey, M.M. (20th Pack Battery), is transferred to the 4th Field Battery, with seniority as from the 20th April, 1925.

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Central Depot.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 17th August, 1926.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own).
2nd Lieutenant E. M. Grace, from the Waikato Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 28th June, 1926.
2nd Lieutenant K. K. Wragge (1st Battalion), is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 1. Dated 18th August, 1926.
Henry Charles Luscombe to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for service with the 4th C. Battalion. Dated 12th August, 1926.

The North Auckland Regiment.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants, 1st Battalion. Dated 9th August, 1926.
Oscar Soren Olsen.
Leslie William Reanney.

The Waikato Regiment.
Lieutenant R. S. Alford (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 4. Dated 6th August, 1926.
2nd Lieutenant E. M. Grace (1st C. Battalion) is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own). Dated 19th August, 1926.
