REPORT on the Vital Statistics of the Urban Areas of the Dominion for the Month of July, 1926:

The total births registered for the urban areas amounted to 1,086, as against 1,030 in June—an increase of 56. The deaths in July were 806—an increase of 278 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 401, females 405. One hundred and six of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 13·15 per cent. of the whole number. Seventy-two of these were under one year of age.

The equivalent annual rates per 1,000 of mean population for July, 1926, and seven months ended July, 1926, were as follows. The infantile-mortality rate per 100 births for the same period is also given.
