Validating Proceedings in connection with a Bridge Rate made
by the Mauriceville County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of
August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Mauriceville County Council, acting
under and in pursuance of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913, proposes to make a bridge rate of one halfpenny
(½d.) in the pound sterling on the capital rateable value of
all rateable property in the County of Mauriceville, author-
ized by a poll of the ratepayers of the county taken on the
thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-five, for the purpose of providing funds for the recon-
struction of bridges in the County of Mauriceville as and
when required:

And whereas the proceedings are irregular in that the
special order making the bridge rate was passed on the tenth
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six,
and confirmed on the eighth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-six, such date of confirmation being
sooner than the twenty-eighth day after the date of the
special meeting at which such special order was passed as
required by section ninety-nine of the Counties Act, 1920:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by the irregularity or defect aforesaid, and it is ex-
pedient to validate the same.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred on him by section
one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare
that the proceedings taken shall be valid to all intents and
purposes as though the special order had been confirmed not
sooner than twenty-eight days after the same had been passed,
and that the validity of the proceedings in connection with the
said bridge rate shall not be called into question by reason
only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.

Prohibiting all Alienation of certain Native Land other than
Alienation in favour of the Crown.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this 9th day of
August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase
Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-
three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the
power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit,
for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Coun-
cil, all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule
hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Validating the Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £1,050
proposed to be raised by the Waiotahi Drainage Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of
August, 1926.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Waiotahi Drainage Board, acting under
and in pursuance of paragraph (e) of section sixteen
of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, proposes to raise a loan
of one thousand and fifty pounds for drainage-works:

And whereas the ratepayers' consent given under para-
graph (e) of section sixteen aforesaid is irregular in that
subscribing ratepayers have attested the signature of other
subscribers thereto:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by the said irregularity or defect, and it is expedient
to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hun-
dred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare
that the proceedings taken to raise the said loan shall be valid
to all intents and purposes as though the ratepayers' consent
had been properly witnessed, and that the validity of the
proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be
called into question by reason only of the irregularity or defect
aforesaid.

Pohangina County Council in respect of a Loan of £200,
being the Balance of a Loan of £650 authorized to be raised
for the Renewal of Culverts in the Mangapikopiko Riding.
