Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.
Wellington, 14th July, 1926.
THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Central Electric-power Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

CENTRAL ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Special Loan, £65,000.
IN pursuance of provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that the result of the poll of ratepayers of the special-rating area comprising all those portions of the Central Electric-power District as defined by Orders in Council appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 8th day of July, 1920, 7th day of September, 1922, in as much as refers to the Borough of Ngaruawahia only, 6th day of March, 1924, and 7th day of August, 1924, respectively (being the original area of the Central Electric-power District, together with the Huntly Riding of the County of Waikato, the Huntly Town District and the Borough of Ngaruawahia) held on the 22nd day of June, 1926, upon the proposal to raise a special loan of £65,000, was as follows :—
For the proposal, 347 ; against the proposal, 46.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.
Karamu-Pirongia Special Loan, £5,000.
In pursuance of provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that the result of the poll of ratepayers of the special-rating area comprising all that portion of the Central Electric-power District as defined by Order in Council appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 3rd day of December, 1925, held on the 1st day of July, 1926, upon the proposal to raise a special loan of £5,000, was as follows :—
For the proposal, 20 ; against the proposal, 4.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Taranaki Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TARANAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the result of the poll of the ratepayers of the Taranaki Electric-power District taken on the 5th day of July, 1926, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £75,000, was as follows :—
Number of votes recorded in favour of proposal, 386 ; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 61 ; number of informal votes, 12.
I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
Pirauui Subdivision Loan of £4,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Pirauui Subdivision of the Hungahunga Drainage District taken on the 1st day of July, 1926, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of cleansing, deepening, and widening existing watercourses, drains, and
outfalls, and to make and construct new watercourses, drains, and outfalls,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 20 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

WOODVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Loan of £5,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Woodville County taken on the 28th day of June, 1926, on the proposal of the Woodville County Council to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose of constructing (including widening and deviating if necessary) and tar-sealing the main roads, now highways—viz., the Napier—Wellington (via Wairarapa) and the Woodville—Palmerston North Highways respectively, within the Woodville County,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 168 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17 ; informal, 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Loan of £6,000.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Woodville County taken on the 28th day of June, 1926, on the proposal of the Woodville County Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of enabling the Council to purchase, construct, and erect plant, machinery, appliances, and any buildings necessary in connection therewith, and also to purchase the existing main-road plant, machinery, and material,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 167 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19 ; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Bridge Rate.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Woodville County taken on the 28th day of June, 1926, on the proposal of the Woodville County Council to strike, under the provisions of sections 23 and 24 of the said Act, a special rate over the whole of the Woodville County, to be called a bridge rate, for the purpose of providing funds for the renewing or reconstruction of bridges exceeding 20 ft. in span on roads within the Woodville County,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 168 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17 ; informal, 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
