minute (approved by the Court) showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above statute were registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 5th day of June, 1926. And further take notice that the said minute is in the words and figures following :—

“The capital of HOGG AND CO. (LIMITED) henceforth is £62,000 divided into 60,000 ordinary shares of 14s. each and 20,000 preference shares of £1 each, instead of the former capital of £80,000 divided into 60,000 ordinary shares of £1 each and 20,000 preference shares of £1 each, by reducing the said 60,000 ordinary shares in amount from £1 each to 14s. each. At the time of the registration of this minute 50,700 of the said ordinary shares numbered 1 to 50,700 (both inclusive) and 17,903 of the said preference shares numbered 1 to 17,903 (both inclusive) have been issued, and the sum of 14s. has been and is to be deemed to have been paid up on each of the said ordinary shares, and the sum of £1 has been and is to be deemed to have been paid up on each of the said preference shares. The remaining 9,300 ordinary shares and the remaining 2,097 preference shares are unissued.”

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908; and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for recreation purposes at Miramar, in the City of Wellington; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

6 acres 0 roods 19·3 perches, being Lot 2 on deposited plan 4550; coloured on the said plan red. Situate in the City of Wellington.

The above land being part Sections 3 and 10, Watts Peninsula District, part Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District.

PURSUANT to section 223 of the Companies Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company legally constituted and duly held at the office of Cecil T. Cox, Public Accountant, 37A Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, on Wednesday, the 2nd day of June, 1926, the following extraordinary resolution was passed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that CECIL TURNLEY COX, of Wanganui, Public Accountant, be hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”
