Timber in the Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Tender.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 9th June, 1926.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the timber on the undermentioned property will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 21st June, 1926, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the timber regulations thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
Waimate County.—Waitaki Survey District.
PART Reserve 1816, Block VII: Area, 63 acres 2 roods 32 perches :—

TERMS OF PAYMENT.
A deposit of 5 per cent. must be lodged with the tender, also promissory notes endorsed by an approved party for the balance in four equal amounts due on the 1st September, 1926, 1st December, 1926, 1st March, 1927, 1st June, 1927. Timber to be kept on the ground to the full value of the promissory notes still not met, or satisfactory arrangements made to redeem the same.
Deposits of unsuccessful tenderers will be returned immediately on acceptance of tender.
CONDITIONS OF SALE.

The contractor will be allowed twelve months from the date of signing the contract in which to complete the work, and if uncompleted a penalty of £3 per week for each and every week until the work is completed may be imposed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The contractor to clear up all branches and debris from the trees, or destroy the same in a workmanlike manner.

The contractor will be held responsible for all damage to fences or anything whatsoever, and must make good the same.

The contractor shall keep himself and all his employees fully insured against accident in an approved office, and deposit the receipts with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch.

Should any of the conditions as contained herein be broken by the contractor, the Commissioner of Crown Lands reserves the right to cancel the contract forthwith.
Tenders are to be addressed “The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch,” and envelopes to be marked “Tender for Timber.”

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.
Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender, Nelson—Marlborough Conservation Region.
State Forest Service,
Nelson, 11th June, 1926.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Nelson, at 4 o’clock p.m., on 7th July, 1926.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON—MARLBOROUGH FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.
ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land, containing 138 acres, situated in Block I, Wakamarina Survey District, and situated about three miles from Flat Creek.
The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 129,083, or in feet board measure 809,000, made up as follows :—

Terms and Payment.
Upset price, £1,045.
Ground rent, £6 18s. per annum.
Time for removal, three years.
A marked cheque for one-fifth of the purchase-money, together with half-year’s ground rent and £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid by seven equal quarterly instalments, the first to be paid three months from date of sale.
The ground rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance during the currency of the license.
Terms and Conditions.

All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.

The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22, the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.

The attention of all tenderers is drawn to the fact that the local controlling body may require the successful tenderer to pay any claims or charges which may be made by that body for the maintenance of the road over which the timber may be transported, and before a sawmill license is issued a letter indicating that satisfactory arrangements have been made in this connection must be produced to the undersigned.

Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relative to the sale.

Each tenderer must state the total price that he is prepared to pay for each species. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, and the timber described is submitted for sale subject to the final acceptance of the tender by the Commissioner of State Forests.

The right is reserved to the Commissioner of State Forests to withdraw from sale any or all of the said timber either before or after the closing date for receipt of tenders.

If no tender is accepted for the timber herein mentioned it will remain open for application at the upset price until further notice.

Tenders should be on the special form obtainable from any office of the State Forest Service, and should be enclosed in envelopes addressed “Conservator of Forests, Nelson,” and endorsed “Tender for Timber.”
The conditions which will be inserted in the license to be issued to the purchaser, and further particulars, may be obtained on application to the undersigned or to the Director of Forestry, Wellington.

BANKRUPTCY NOTICES.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the PAEROA BREWERY COMPANY (LIMITED) in liquidation.
I HEREBY give notice that by an order of the above-named Court dated the 7th day of June, 1926, the above-named company was ordered to be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the said Act, and I hereby call a meeting of creditors of the company to be held at my office, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, on Monday, the 21st day of June, 1926, at 11 a.m.
And I further give notice that all claims against the said company must be lodged with me or on before the 7th day of August, 1926.
