PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Bay of Islands Harbour District taken on the 18th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Bay of Islands Harbour Board to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the construction of a wharf at Russell,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 386 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 156.
I hereby declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Porirua Riding of the County of Makara was taken on the 12th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Makara County Council to borrow the sum of £13,000 for the purpose of providing the share of the Council of the County of Makara towards the cost of reconstructing that portion of the Wellington—Auckland (via Taranaki) No. 1 Main Highway, commencing with that section of the highway known as the Ngahauranga Gorge from its southern end to the south boundary of the Town District of Johnsonville, and continuing with the Johnsonville—Tawa Section of highway from the north boundary of the said town district towards Porirua to that point where the main highway would be intersected by the producing of the boundary-line of Sections 52 and 49, Belmont Survey District.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 357 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 55.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposals to raise Loans.

Loan Proposal No. 1.—Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Johnsonville Town District taken on the 19th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Johnsonville Town Board to borrow the sum of £5,300 for the purpose of street-improvements, including street-widening and work incidental thereto,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 130 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 37.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Loan Proposal No. 2.—Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Johnsonville Town District taken on the 19th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Johnsonville Town Board to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purpose of the augmentation of the present water-supply, including the supply of pumping-plant and electric lines, and work incidental thereto,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 156 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for A. G. Costelloe, 25 Montpellier Street, Hobart, or 19 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Regulations as to Drainage and Plumbing under the Health Act, 1920, applied to the Borough of Takapuna and the Town District of Hikurangi. (H. 2/42.)

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the 3rd day of September, 1923, and gazetted on the 6th day of the same month, regulations (to be cited as “the Drainage and Plumbing Regulations”) were made under the Health Act, 1920, prescribing the conditions to be observed in the construction of approved drains, septic tanks, sanitary conveniences, and sanitary appliances :
And whereas by the said regulations it was provided that the same were suspended as provided in the said Act :
And whereas by section 133 of the said Act it is enacted that the operation of any such regulation may, if so provided therein, be wholly suspended until they are applied by the Minister by notice in the Gazette to any part of New Zealand :
Now, therefore, I, James Alexander Young, Minister of Health, in exercise of the power and authority given by the said regulations and by section 133 of the said Act, do hereby apply the said regulations to the—
Borough of Takapuna and
Town District of Hikurangi,
and do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 21st day of June, 1926.
