Classification of Roads in the Waikato County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1925, and the Motor-lorry Regulations Amendment No. 1, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Public Works, do hereby alter the Waikato County Council’s proposed classification of roads, and do hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
CLASSIFICATION OF ROADS IN THE WAIKATO COUNTY.
Roads classified in the Third Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 6 tons)—
Hamilton to Eureka Hall and Piako County Boundary on the direct road to Morrinsville.
Roads classified in the Fourth Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 4 tons)—
- Hamilton to Leslie’s Gully Culvert in the direction of Cambridge.
- Hukanui Road from Hamilton Borough boundary to Taupiri.
- Tram Road, from Government Ruakura Experimental Farm to Craig’s Hill.
- River Road from Hamilton Borough to Ngaruawahia Borough.
- Taupiri to Orini Cheese-factory.
- Tauhei Quarry to junction with Gordonton–Taupiri Road.
- Ohinewai to Piako County boundary at Mohring’s farm on direct road to Tahuna.
- Ohinewai to Matahuru Stream at J. W. Mark’s farm in the direction of Taniwha.
Roads classified in the Fifth Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 2½ tons)—
- Ruakura Experimental Farm to Ruakura Station and to Hinton’s Gully.
- Motumaho Road (county boundary) to Gordonton, known as the Piako Road.

Roads classified in the Second Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 8 tons)—
Napier–Gisborne (via Wairoa): All that portion situated within the County of Wairoa, excluding that portion (being a distance of fourteen miles and a half) from Hawke’s Bay county boundary to Mohaka River Bridge, and excluding that portion from Morere to Cook County boundary.
Roads classified in the Third Class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry which, with the maximum load it is licensed to carry, weighs not more than 6 tons)—
Wairoa–Gisborne (via Hangaroa): All that portion situated within the County of Wairoa.
Napier–Gisborne (via Wairoa): All that portion from Morere to Cook County boundary.
