All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 142, Township of Carnarvon Registration District, Block XI, Te Kauwau Survey District, thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections 142, 147, 366, and 148, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along Taikoria Road, being the south-western boundaries of Sections 148, 149, 150, and 157, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-easterly along the Carnarvon-Sandon Tramway, forming the north-western boundaries of Sections 157, 155, 154, 151, 146, 143, and 139, Township of Carnarvon, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-easterly along the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 139, 140, 141, and 142, Township of Carnarvon aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Waikato River District, Counties of Waikato, Franklin, and Raglan.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, praying that the Waikato River District may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Result of Election of Trustees of a Drainage District.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 28th May, 1926.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Otahuhu, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF OTAHUHU.

Loan of £11,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Otahuhu taken on the 5th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Otahuhu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £11,000 for the permanent construction in concrete at permanent levels of Mangere Road from its junction with Walmsley Road to the railway crossing and the formation at permanent levels of two footpaths therein from the Nixon Monument to the said railway crossing,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 418; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 182; the number of informal votes was 13.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Loan of £7,600.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Otahuhu, taken on the 5th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Otahuhu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £7,600 for the purpose of erecting council chambers and accommodation for the Otahuhu Fire Brigade, also the erection of a men’s convenience, the purchase of a fire-motor and equipment, the erection of sheds for the borough plant, and the removal and re-erection of the borough fire-bell,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 359; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 235; the number of informal votes was 19.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Whangarei, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WHANGAREI COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Whangarei taken on the 12th day of May, 1926, on the proposal of the Whangarei County Council to borrow the sum of £9,500—

(a.) To remodel the present county chambers situated in Bank Street, Whangarei, for letting for commercial purposes, £3,625;

(b.) To erect new chambers in Rose Street, £5,725; and

(c.) Floor-coverings and office-furniture, £150,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 687; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 624; informal votes, 39: total number of valid votes, 1,311.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
