ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of May, 1926.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area should be excluded from the City of Wanganui and included in the County of Waitotara:
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries and recommended certain alterations of the said area:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alteration of boundaries of the said city recommended by the said Commission and to declare to what riding of the said county such area shall be added:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the City of Wanganui and included in the County of Waitotara, and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby further declare that as on and from the aforesaid date the area included as aforesaid in the County of Waitotara shall be added to and form part of the Westmere Riding of that county.
SCHEDULE.
AREA EXCLUDED FROM CITY OF WANGANUI.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of Wilberforce Street and Brougham Street and proceeding in an easterly direction along the southern side of the said Brougham Street and Fox Road to the north-western corner of Lot 7 on plan No. 2006, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence towards the south-west by the western boundary of the said Lot 7 to the south-western corner thereof; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Lot 3 on plan No. 2139, deposited as aforesaid; thence by the western boundary of the said Lot 3 to the south-western corner thereof; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Lot 5 on the said plan No. 2139; again towards the south-west and west generally by the western boundaries of Lots 5 and 5A, the western, northern, and western boundaries of Lot 7, and the western boundary of Lot 7A, all on the aforesaid plan No. 2139, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence in a westerly direction by the southern and south-western boundaries of that part of Section 227, right bank of Wanganui River, containing 36 acres 2 roods, more or less, as shown on deeds plan 250, deposited as aforesaid, to Mosstown Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the eastern side of Mosstown Road and Wilberforce Street to the junction of the said Wilberforce Street and Brougham Street, the place of commencement.
