Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-laws.—Hokianga County Council.

I T is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-laws made by the Hokianga County Council and sealed on the 7th day of April, 1926, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Hokianga County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Waitara.

P URSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Waitara are hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Proclamation dated the 18th day of January, 1926, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 4, of the 21st day of January, 1926.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF WAITARA.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point at low water-mark of the sea in line with the western boundary of A 2, part Reserve A, Block I, Paritutu Survey District, thence easterly along low-water mark of the sea to the northern end of the training-wall on the western side of the mouth of the Waitara River; thence south-easterly along the western side of the said wall to high-water mark; thence in a westerly direction along high-water mark to a point in line with the southern side of Howard Street; thence by a right line to and along the southern side of Howard Street to the westernmost corner of Section 1, Waitara East District, Block I, Waitara Survey District; thence by Sections 1, 2, 5, and 7, said Waitara East District, to Elliot Street, thence towards the east generally by the western side of Elliot Street to the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Waitara East District; thence along the northern and western boundaries of that section and Section 28 to the northernmost corner of Section 32; thence towards the south generally by the last-mentioned section to and across Princess Street to the northernmost corner of Section 31; thence by that section and Section 25 to Joll Street; thence to and along the middle of Joll Street to Section 24, Waitara East District, and by that section to the angle in Manukorihi Road on the western side of the said Section 24; thence across the Manukorihi Road to the Waitara River and by the right bank of that river to a point due east of the confluence of the Mangahinau Stream with the Waitara River; thence by a right line across the Waitara River to and by the said Mangahinau Stream to the western side of Nelson Street, by the said western side of Nelson Street to the northernmost corner of Section 29, Waitara West District; thence by the northern boundary of that section to the western side of the Waitara-New Plymouth Railway; thence by that railway to the western boundary of Section 25, Waitara West District; thence by that boundary and the western side of Ranfurly Street, across Raleigh Street, to the north-eastern corner of Section 16, Waitara West District; thence by that section and Section 15 to Johnston Street, across Johnston Street, and along its western side to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 12, Waitara West District; thence to and along that boundary to the south-western corner of Section 9, Waitara West District; thence by the western and northern boundaries of the said Section 9 to the western side of Ranfurly Street; thence by the western side of Ranfurly Street to the southern side of Battiscombe Terrace; thence south-westerly along the southern side of Brown Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 136, Block I, Paritutu Survey District; thence across Brown Road to and along the western boundary of Section 136 aforesaid, and A 2, part Reserve A, to low-water mark of the sea, the place of commencement.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License Fees, &c., Opotiki Acclimatization District.
I N exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of June to the 31st day of July, 1926 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Opotiki Acclimatization District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the following imported game and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, black teal, and black swan; and the period from the 1st day of February to the 31st day of March, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits —subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native game, including godwits, within the said district will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each, and the Secretary of the Opotoki Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses.

The number of such imported game and native game that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed twelve cock pheasants and twenty-five head in all of grey duck, black teal, and black swan.

Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and native game, including godwits, or the following native game only—viz., godwits—shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native game, including godwits, or godwits only, on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain.
