Waiotama River to its intersection by the road forming
the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 1, Block 1,
Tangihua Survey District; thence southerly and westerly
along that road to a point in line with the western
boundary of Section 7A, Block I, Tangihua Survey Dis-
trict; thence southerly along the western boundaries of
Sections 7A and 7 to the westernmost corner of the last-
mentioned section; thence southerly along the western
boundaries of Sections 16, 15A, and 14 to Horokaka Trig.
Station; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner
of Allotment No. 1A, Walton’s Grant; thence down the
stream forming the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 1A
aforesaid to the Tauraroa River; thence down the said
Tauraroa River to its junction with the Mangonui River;
thence up the said Mangonui River to its junction with the
north-western boundary of Section 1, Block II, Matakoe
Survey District; thence north-easterly along the north-
western boundaries of the said Section 1, Block II aforesaid,
the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 44, 51, 63, Block
III, Matakoe Survey District, the south-eastern boundaries
of Sections 59, 61, 65, 66, and part of 67, Block XV, Tangihua
Survey District, the south-eastern boundaries of part of
Section 67 and Sections 68, 159, 157, 156, 155, and 154,
Block XVI, Tangihua Survey District, to the easternmost
corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the eastern
boundaries of the parishes of Mareretu and Wairau to the
main road to Waipu; thence by the western side of that
road through Maungaturoto to the Great North Road;
along the western side of that road to the Hakaru River;
thence down the middle of that river, the middle of the
Topuni River, the middle of Oruawharo River, and the middle
of the channel of the Kaipara Harbour to its entrance;
thence northerly along the sea-coast to the north-western
corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, the point of
commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Areas, in addition to those referred to in condition No. 3,
excepted from the open season wherein imported game and
native game shall not be taken or killed:—
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated
in Kai Iwi and Kaihu Survey Districts, Hobson County,
being the lakes known as Lake Waikere, Lake Taharoa, and
Lake Kai Iwi, and the area surrounding the said lakes in-
cluded within a line running parallel to and 40 chains
distant from the margins of the said lakes.
Whenuanui Domain, containing approximately 138 acres.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License
Fees, &c., Lakes District Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day
of May to the 31st day of July, 1926 (both days inclusive),
to be an open season in the Lakes District Acclimatization
District, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the
areas referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing
of the following imported game and native game—viz., Cali-
formian quail, grey duck, and black swan; and the period
from the 1st day of May, 1926, to the 7th day of May, 1926
(both days inclusive), to be an open season in the localities
known as Garston, Nicholas, Greenstone, and Glenorchy,
being part of the said district, for the taking or killing of
the following native game—viz., paradise duck; subject to
the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
-
LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game within the said district will be issued to any person
on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and
licenses to take or kill such native game only will be issued
to any person on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.)
each; and the Postmasters at Queenstown, Arrowtown,
Kingston, and Pembroke are hereby authorized to sign and
issue the said licenses. -
The number of such native game that may be taken or
killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed
twenty-five head in all of grey duck and black swan, and
six head of paradise duck. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game (or native game only) shall authorize the
holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native
game (or native game only) on lands actually and exclusively
used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatiza-
tion purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-
loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of
carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle,
swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other
than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose
aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known
as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which
exceeds 10 lb. in weight. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than half an hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than half an hour after
sunset. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these con-
ditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts
bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Awarua
River in Big Bay, and proceeding thence along a right line
to Mount Aspiring; along the summit of the Southern Alps
and a spur range to Mount Kuri; along a spur to the Wilkin
River; down that river; along the centre of Lake Wanaka;
down the Clutha River and up the Cardrona River to the
northern boundary of Block I, Lower Wanaka; easterly
and southerly along the boundaries of that block to its south-
eastern corner along a right line to Mount Pisa; down the
Roaring Meg Stream and up the Kawarau River to the con-
fluence of the Nevis River; along a right line to Mount Rosa
and along the summits of the Remarkables and Hector Ranges
to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block III, Nokomai
Survey District, and along the north-western boundaries of
Sections 3 and 4 to the Mataura River; thence up the Mataura
River to its source on Eyre Peak; thence by a right line to Jane
Peak; thence to Hummock Peak; thence along the watershed
to Mount Lookup, and thence still following the watershed to
Round Peaks; thence westerly by a right line to Mount
Eglinton; thence by a right line to Largs Peak; thence by a
right line to Skelmorlie Peak; thence along the range to
Mount Anau; thence along the range to a point in line with
Castle Mount and Cloudy Pass in Bligh Sound; thence by a
right line through Castle Mount to Cloudy Pass aforesaid;
thence generally northerly by the sea-coast to the mouth
of the Awarua River, the place of commencement.

May to the 30th day of June, 1926 (both days inclusive),
to be an open season in the Mangonui-Whangaroa Ac-
climatization District, as described in the First Schedule
hereto, except in the areas referred to in condition No. 3
and in the Second Schedule hereto, for the taking or killing of
the following imported game and native game—viz., cock
pheasants, Australian quail, grey duck, black teal, spoonbill
duck (shoveller), and black swan; and the period from the 1st
day of January to the 31st day of March, 1927 (both days
inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the
taking or killing of the following native game—viz., godwits
—subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
-
LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game, including godwits, within the said district will be
issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings
(20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following native
game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person on
payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the
secretary of the Mangonui-Whangaroa Acclimatization Society,
or any person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is
hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such imported and native game that may
be taken or killed by any one person in any one day shall not
exceed twelve cock pheasants, and twenty-five head in all
