an open season in the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization District,
as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas
referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of
the following imported game and native game—viz., cock
pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, mallard duck,
grey duck, widgeon, and black swan; and the period from
the 1st day of January to the 28th day of February, 1927
(both days inclusive) to be an open season in the said district
for the taking or killing of the following native game—viz.,
godwits; subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
-
Licenses to take or kill such imported game and native
game, including godwits, within the said district will be
issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty
shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following
native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person
on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the
secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization Society, or any
person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is hereby
authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one
day shall not exceed five cock pheasants, twenty Californian
quail, ten Australian quail, five mallard duck, and twenty-
five head in all of grey duck, widgeon, and black swan. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game (including godwits) or native game only
(including godwits), shall authorize the holder thereof to take
or kill imported game and native game (including godwits), or
native game only (including godwits), on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society
for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public
domain, or any land mentioned in the Second Schedule
hereto. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-
loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of
carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle,
swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun
other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for
the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the
size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be
used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than half an hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than half an hour after
sunset. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these condi-
tions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, and Wellington
Land Districts, commencing at a point in the centre of the
Rangitikei River with the intersection of a right line running
between Trig. Stations 27 and 26, Tawaki-Tohunga, and
situated in Blocks XV and XII, Mangamaire Survey District,
respectively; thence towards the north generally by a right
line to Trig. Station 26, Tawaki-Tohunga; thence by a
right line to Trig. Station 6A; thence by a right line in a
north-easterly direction through Trig. Station 68A to the
middle of the Mohaka River; thence by the middle of the
Mohaka River to the sea; thence towards the east
generally by high-water mark of the sea to the middle of the
Waimata River, being the north-eastern corner of Waimata
Survey District in Akitio County; thence by the northern
boundaries of Waimata and Mount Cerberus Survey Districts
and the northern boundary of Wellington Land District to
the middle of the Manawatu River; thence by the middle
of the Manawatu River to a point in line with the summit
of the Ruahine Range; thence to and by the summit of that
range to a right line running between Aorangi Trig. Station
and the confluence of the northern branch of the Waipawa
River with the Makaroro River; thence by that line to
Aorangi Trig. Station; thence by a right line running in the
direction of trig. numbered 32 to the middle of the Rangitikei
River, and by the middle of that river to the place of com-
mencement.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License
Fees, &c., Hobson Acclimatization District.
In exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of
June to the 31st day of July, 1926 (both days inclusive),
to be an open season in the Hobson Acclimatization District,
as described in the First Schedule hereto, except in the areas
referred to in condition No. 3 and in the Second Schedule
hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported
game and native game—viz., cock pheasants, Californian
quail, grey duck, black teal, and black swan; and the
period from the 1st day of January to the 31st day of
March, 1927 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in
the said district for the taking or killing of the following native
game—viz., godwits—subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

Licenses to take or kill such imported game and native
game, including godwits, within the said district will be
issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty

following native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued

each; and the Postmasters at Maungaturoto, Paparoa, Pahi,
Matakohc, Dargaville, Donnelly’s Crossing, Te Kopuru, Ara-
tapu, Tangiteroria, Tangowahine, Kaihu, Kirikoponui, Miti tai,
Raupo, Ruawai, Batley, Hoanga, Mangawhare, Mareretu,
Onetoa, Naumai, Otamatea, Pukihuia, Rehia, Tutamoe, Wai-
rere, Whakapirau, and Tokatoka are hereby authorized to sign
and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one

FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District com-
mencing on the sea-coast at the north-western corner of
Block V, Waipoua Survey District, and bounded by the
southern boundaries of Blocks I, II, III, and IV, Waipoua
Survey District, to a public road; across that road; and
by the western, southern, and south-eastern boundaries of
Section 10, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, to the north-
eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; across a public
road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 5,
6, and 7, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District, to the south-
western corner of Section 5, Block I, Tutamoe Survey Dis-
trict; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5,
4, 3, and 14 of the last-mentioned block, and part of the
southern boundary of Section 5, Block II, Tutamoe Survey
District, to the intersection of a line running between the
north-western corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Punakitere
Survey District, and Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence by
the last-mentioned line to Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence
by a right line running in the direction of Trig. Station No.
18 on Tarai-o-Rahiri to the western boundary of Section
No. 26, Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District; thence
south-easterly along the western boundaries generally of
Sections 26, 23, and 22, Block IX aforesaid, to the road
forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 22 aforesaid;
across that road and along its eastern side to the southern-
most corner of Section 11 of Block IX aforesaid; thence
north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of said
Section 11 to its easternmost corner; thence south-easterly
along that part of the western boundary of Section 2 and
the western and southern boundaries generally of Sections 8A
and 9 to the westernmost corner of the reserve forming
the northern boundary of Section 2, Block XIII, Mangakahia
Survey District; thence south-easterly along the southern
boundary of the said reserve to a public road, across that
road, and southerly along the eastern side of the aforesaid
road and the south-western boundaries of Sections 11, 10, 9,
and 8, Block XIV, Mangakahia Survey District, to the Wairoa
