SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Okura Parish.
Section 86: Area, 20 acres 3 roods 23 perches. Capital value, £90. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £2 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 16s.
Situated six miles from Silverdale School and Township and sixteen miles from Devonport Wharf. Access road is unformed. Land unimproved, covered with stunted scrub and manuka. Soil is pipe-clay resting on clay formation. Watered by creek.
Waitemata County.—Pukeatua Parish.
Allot. N.E. 120: Area, 40 acres 0 roods 9 perches. Capital value, £40. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.
Situated four miles and a half from Silverdale, four miles of access road being formed cart-road, balance unformed. Undulating land in scrub, all more or less ploughable. Soil is clay and pipe clay, resting on sandstone formation. Poorly watered. General quality of section is very poor. Altitude, 300 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level.
Bay of Islands County.—Kawakawa Survey District.
Section 4, Block XV: Area, 116 acres 3 roods 16 perches. Capital value, £175. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £4 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 10s.
Section situated between Mill Road and Waiharakeke Stream, about three miles from Kawakawa Railway-station and Township. Flat, undulating, and easy sloping country, fairly well watered by swamp. About 30 acres flax-swamp with good soil, balance poor, verging on gum-soil, in short manuka, fern, and hakea. Altitude, 40 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level.
Hokianga County.—Punakitere Survey District.
Section 3, Block XIII: Area, 714 acres. Capital value, £580. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £14 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £11 12s.
Weighted with £60, valuation for improvements, consisting of 80 chains of fencing and slab whare in dilapidated condition. Situated about fourteen miles from Donnelly’s Crossing Railway-station and four miles from Waimatenui School. Part access road formed, balance bridle-track. About 100 acres in grass now coming up in second growth. Balance burnt standing bush. Scattered patches of blackberry all through section. Well watered by permanent streams and springs. There are about 80 chains of wire fencing in dilapidated condition and two-roomed slab whare, shingle roof. Property suitable for grazing.
NOTE.—Area is subject to amendment on completion of survey.

Land temporarily reserved in the Hawke’s Bay Land District as a Site for a Roadman’s Cottage.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as a site for a roadman’s cottage.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 28·5 perches, more or less, being part Section 10A, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 3, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, for a distance of 625·7 links; towards the north-east by Section 3, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, for a distance of 40 links; towards the south-east by the Napier-Wairoa Main Road, for a distance of 774·6 links; and towards the south-west by Section 10, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, for a distance of 496·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/1164, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Opening Lands in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.—Okaka and Waioneke Survey Districts.
SECTION 1, Block XI, Okaka Survey District: Area, 1,033 acres. Capital value, £775. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £19 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £15 10s.
Section 1, Block III, Waioneke Survey District: Area, 794 acres. Capital value, £695. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £17 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £13 18s.
Section 2, Block III, Waioneke Survey District: Area, 642 acres. Capital value, £610. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £15 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12 4s.
Sections are situated about twenty miles from Helensville by formed road. Country is mostly undulating to hilly with patches of wiwi swamp. Soil is sandy loam on sandstone formation, fairly well watered by swamp and streams. There are about 80 chains of fencing along western and part northern boundaries of Section 1, Okaka Survey District, and about 70 chains along western boundary of Section 1, Waioneke Survey District. Land mostly covered with short manuka and fern, with danthonia running through in parts. Altitude, sea-level to 450 ft. above.
Waitemata County.—Paremoremo Parish.
Section 318: Area, 15 acres 2 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £350. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £8 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £8 15s.
Property situated five miles from Takapuna and three miles and a half from Brown’s Bay School. About 2½ acres have been grassed, but now going back into scrub; balance unimproved, in scrub and gorse. Road-fencing in very fair condition, but other boundary-fencing poor. House of three rooms in rather unfinished condition. Once good shelter has been established property would be suitable for strawberry-growing for the Auckland market.

Section 2, Block XII: Area, 195 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £200. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £5. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4.
Situated eighteen miles from Taheke and twenty-two miles from Opononi; Wekaweka School about five miles distant, and store at Waimamaku ten miles away by road, half of which is metalled, and balance formed but in disrepair. Soil is dark loam and clay on sandstone, resting on clay formation. Very well watered by several streams. About half of section
