Prohibiting all Alienation of certain Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of March, 1926.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. Coates, P.C., PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-two of
the Native Land Act, 1909, it is provided that for
the purpose of enabling any scheme of consolidation of the
interests of owners of Native land into suitable areas to be
prepared and carried into effect the Governor-General may,
by Order in Council, prohibit for a period not exceeding
twelve months any alienation of Native land in respect of
which application has been made by the Native Minister to
the Court for the preparation of such a scheme :
And whereas an application has been made by the Native
Minister to the Native Land Court for the preparation of a
scheme of consolidation of the interests of the owners of the
blocks mentioned in the Schedule hereto into suitable areas :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby prohibit for a period of twelve months
all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule
hereto.

Portion of Mortimer Terrace Extension, in the City of Wellington,
exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public
Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-
line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of March, 1926.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. Coates, P.C., PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in any-
wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution
passed by the Wellington City Council on the twenty-second
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
five, viz. :-
"The Wellington City Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the City of Wellington,
hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred
and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not
apply to all that portion of Mortimer Terrace Extension
beginning at its junction with Laura Avenue and extending
for a distance of approximately 300 links, being that
part of road fronting Lots 36 and 37, D.P. 1004, being
part Section 11, Ohiro Registration District, Block X, Port
Nicholson Survey District";
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building
shall at any time be erected on the land fronting either side
of the portion of Mortimer Terrace Extension (described in
the Schedule hereto), within a distance of twenty-five feet
from the centre-line of the said portion of street.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of street, situated in the Wellington Land
District, City of Wellington, known as Mortimer Terrace
Extension, fronting Lots 36 and 37, D.P. 1004, being part
Section 11, Ohiro R.D., Block X, Port Nicholson Survey
District. As the said portion of street is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked marked P.W.D. 64772, de-
posited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wel-
lington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured
pink.

Recreation Reserve in Auckland Land District brought under
Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of March, 1926.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. Coates, P.C., PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that
the reserve for recreation in the Auckland Land District
described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and
such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Torehape
Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a
public domain.

SECTION 50, Block XII, Piako Survey District. Area, 1 rood
30 perches.

Cobden Town District not to be Part of County of Grey.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 8th day
of March, 1926.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. Coates, P.C., PRESIDING IN
COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Governor-General is satisfied that the
population of the Cobden Town District, in the
County of Grey, exceeds five hundred, and the Town Board
of the said Cobden Town District has made application that
the town district shall not form part of the County of Grey,
being the county within the boundaries of which it is situated :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment
Act, 1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby order and declare that, on and after the first day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, the Cobden
Town District shall not form part of the County of Grey.
