THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service :—
Mrs. Alice Bloy
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris, at Karakanui, as from the 1st day of October, 1925.
William Joseph Leahy, Esq.,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the district of Wellington (at Courtenay Place), as from the 30th day of October, 1925.
James McIvor, Esq.,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Scaffolding and Excavation Act, 1922, as from the 2nd day of November, 1925.
Ernest John Robert Cumming, Esq.,
to be Deputy Commissioner of Taxes under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, and its amendments, as from the 29th day of October, 1925.

Hall appointed for Sittings of Magistrates’ Court.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
The Hall in Yandle’s Buildings, Putaruru,
to be a place wherein a Magistrates’ Court shall be held under the provisions of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1908, in lieu of the Putaruru Public Hall previously appointed.

Special Order made by the Rangitikei County Council, merging Lethbridge Town District.

THE following special order, made by the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order merging Lethbridge Town District.
RESOLVED,—That in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 27 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Rangitikei County Council, on the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Lethbridge Town District, resolves by way of special order that on and after the 1st day of December, 1925, the said town district shall be merged in the County of Rangitikei, and the Board thereof abolished.
I, Alexander Grant Simpson, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of a resolution passed by the Council at a special meeting held on the 1st day of October, 1925, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 30th day of October, 1925.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 10th November, 1925.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Glen Eden Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Glen Eden Town District taken on the 2nd day of November, 1925, on the proposal of the Town Board to borrow a sum of money not exceeding £2,000 for the purpose of providing the Glen Eden Town Board’s contribution towards concreting and improvement of the Great North Road,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 54 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Puke Town District taken on the 28th day of October, 1925, on the proposal of the Te Puke Town Board to borrow the sum of £1,230 for purchasing Lots 3, 4, and 5 of a subdivision of part Section 21, Block 2, Maketu Survey District, from estate of M. L. C. D. Smith (deceased),—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 54 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and their amendments, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Maeroa West Special-rating Area of the Borough of Hamilton taken on the 22nd day of September, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £15,200,—
For laying, constructing, supplying, and fitting mains, pipes, machinery, meters, fittings, and appliances for the supply of water .. .. 5,450
For making and constructing sewer drains and drainage-works .. .. .. 9,750

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 38 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 131 ; informal, 3 : total number of votes, 172.
I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
Library Loan of £2,000.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and their amendments, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hamilton taken on the 22nd day of September, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 to alter and make additions to the building and fittings of the public library in Hall Street, Frankton Junction,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 188 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 806 ; informal, 32 : the total number of votes, 1,026.
I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
