Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the N.Z.
Military Forces amended.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its
amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule
hereto the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations
for the New Zealand Military Forces published in the Gazette
dated 6th August, 1925 ; and I do hereby declare that the
amendments hereby made shall take effect as from the date
of publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS FOR
THE NEW ZEALAND MILITARY FORCES.

Section IV.—Pay and Allowances of the N.Z. Territorial
Force and Reserve, all Ranks.

Medical Officers and Veterinary Officers.

  1. THE heading, and paragraphs 124 to 130 (both inclusive)
    are hereby revoked, and the following substituted :—

“ Medical Officers and Medical Practitioners.

“ 124. The following shall be the scale of fees for medical
attendance on and treatment and examination of members of
the N.Z. Military Forces which will be payable to Officers
of the N.Z. Medical Corps when called upon to perform such
duties at any time other than while undergoing their obligatory
annual training, and to private practitioners :—

“ (i.) For attendance on and treatment of members of the
Forces at their own homes : 12s. 6d. per visit,
but no additional payment for mileage.

“ (ii.) For treatment at a consulting - room : 10s. 6d. per
visit.

“ (iii.) For attendance at camps of continuous training,
artillery practices, or any local camp, for the
specific purpose of attending to the sick and
injured, and not for the purpose of training :
(a) £3 3s. per diem of twenty-four hours con-
tinuously; (b) £1 1s. per diem for periods of less
than twenty-four hours.

“ (iv.) For attendance at Medical Boards : £1 1s. per diem
for the first case, and 10s. 6d. for each additional
case at the same Board.

“ (v.) When a Medical Officer or practitioner is called out
on duty for any of the purposes mentioned in
subparagraphs (iii) and (iv) hereof, the motor-car
allowance of 6d. per mile (vide paragraph 100)
will, in addition to the prescribed fees, be paid.
