SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement, 22·66 perches, more or less, being Sections 33, 34, and Part 35 of Block II, Town of Paeroa. Bounded towards the north-east and south by Section 45, Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, 208 and 249 links; towards the north-west by Part Section 35 and Section 47 of the aforesaid Block II, Town of Paeroa, 136·22 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 6/8/29B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Survey Office plan No. 23324 (blue).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of October, 1925.

Notifying Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

St. Arnaud Township is situated at the northern end of Lake Rotoiti. It is about five miles from Tophouse, and the locality is an ideal one for campers and sportsmen. Access is from Glenhope, about seventeen miles by a fair road; or from Kohatu, via Tophouse, about thirty-five miles. The town is also accessible from Blenheim, via the Wairau Valley, about seventy miles.

Opening Land in the Marlborough Land District for Sale or Selection.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.


SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Marlborough County.—Wakamarina Survey District.

SECTION 7, Block III: Area, 282 acres. Capital value, £600. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £15. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12.

Weighted with £600 valuation for improvements, to be paid for in cash, comprising one and a half miles of boundary-fencing, valued at £100, and a well-built dwelling of five rooms with hot and cold water and conveniences, valued at £500.

Comprises about 60 acres of fair to good flat land; the balance is steep, broken country, cold and shady, covered with birch bush. Practically all the milling-timber has been cleared off. Well watered. Altitude varies from about 320 ft. to 1,500 ft. Distance about seven miles and a half from the Rai Valley Post-office and Dairy Factory.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Bay of Islands County.—Kawakawa Parish.

SECTIONS 42, 43, and 44: Area, 103 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £210. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £5 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent £4 4s.

Sections are situated four miles from Kawakawa Railway-station by formed road. Soil is clay on sandstone formation. Undulating country, all ploughable, poorly watered. Covered with manuka, fern, gorse, and hakea. Handy locality in close proximity to freezing-works.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Bay of Islands County.—Kawakawa Parish.

Sections 106 to 109, and 111 to 116: Area, 464 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £465. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £11 12s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 6s.

Weighted with £786 15s. valuation for improvements, consisting of six miles of fencing, house, cow-shed, and yard, clearing, ploughing, and grassing land.

Situated on Kawakawa–Otai Road, about seven miles from Kawakawa Railway-station by formed road, Opua Port also about seven miles distant by formed road. Country is flat, rolling, and undulating. Soil of fair clay on sandstone. Well watered. 20 acres has been ploughed and is now in grass. Balance manuka, fern, and hakea which has been periodically burnt and surface-sown and now carries fair quantity of danthonia and browntop feed.
