Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the City of Nelson, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

CITY OF NELSON.

Polls for Special Loans.

In pursuance of the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and amendments I hereby give notice that at separate polls of ratepayers of the City of Nelson taken on Wednesday, the 3rd day of December, 1924, for authority to raise special loans of £33,600 for street-improvements and drainage and other works, £8,750 for fresh-water swimming-baths, £1,250 for salt-water swimming-baths, £3,100 for improvements to parks and reserves, and £8,000 for the erection of a traffic-bridge over the Maitai River, Trafalgar Street, the results were as follows :-

  1. Special loan £33,600, streets-improvement, drainage, and other works : For the proposal, 1,120 votes ; against the proposal, 457 votes ; majority in favour of proposal, 663.
    I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

  2. Special loan £8,750, fresh-water swimming-baths : For the proposal, 874 votes ; against the proposal, 695 votes ; majority in favour of proposal, 179.
    I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

  3. Special loan £1,250, salt-water swimming-baths : For the proposal, 773 votes ; against the proposal, 794 votes ; majority against the proposal, 21.
    I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

  4. Special loan £3,100, improvements to parks and reserves ; For the proposal, 773 votes ; against the proposal, 786 votes ; majority against the proposal, 13.
    I declare that the proposal was rejected.

  5. Special loan £8,000, traffic-bridge over Maitai River : For the proposal, 784 votes ; against the proposal, 776 votes ; majority in favour of proposal, 8.
    I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
