Mining Privileges struck off the Registers.--Notice under the Mining Amendment Act, 1914.

N OTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 30, subsection (4), of the Mining Amendment Act, 1914, that the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto have been struck off the Registers.

Alterations to Scale of Charges in force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1908, and its amendments, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of charges in force on the New Zealand Government Railways open for traffic made on the 10th day of August, 1925, and published in the Gazette of 11th August, 1925:-

By adding Palmerston North to the list of stations in respect of which additional charges are to be made as provided in the following regulations :-

PART II.-LUGGAGE, PARCELS, HORSES, ETC.

Regulation 10 (paragraph 3).

Regulation 21 (paragraph 2).

Regulation 22 (paragraph 2).

PART III.-GOODS.

Regulation 15 (paragraph 2).

Regulation 16 (paragraph 2).

By omitting from Regulation 13, Part II, the following :--

  1. The terminal charge at Auckland, Frankton Junction, Hamilton, Wanganui, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, or Invercargill specified in paragraph 3 of Regulation 10 will not apply to parcels forwarded under this regulation. Consignees must take delivery at destination station.

And substituting the following :--

  1. The terminal charge at Auckland, Frankton Junction, Hamilton, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, or Invercargill specified in paragraph 3 of Regulation 10 will not apply to parcels forwarded under this regulation. Consignees must take delivery at destination station.

PART IV.-GOODS : LOCAL RATES.

NORTH ISLAND MAIN LINE AND BRANCHES.

By omitting the following :--

Coal consigned from Waro or Hikurangi Coal Company's sidings to Onerahi for shipment to ports other than Auckland will be charged 3s. 10d. per ton, including weighing and delivery to ship by skip.

Butter and cheese from Rata to Wa-nganui .. .. .. .. 16s. Od. per ton.

Butter and cheese from Ashhurst to Wellington .. .. 33s. 10d. per ton.

By adding the following :--

By omitting the following :--

Biscuits in tins, packed in crates or cases. Owner's risk. Special goods .. .. .. .. A

Biscuits in tins, packed in crates or cases for distances beyond 140 miles (minimum rate as Class A for 140 miles). Owner's risk. Special goods .. .. .. .. B

Confectionery, packed. Owner's risk. Special goods A

Confectionery, packed, for distances beyond 140 miles (minimum rate as Class A for 140 miles). Owner's risk. Special goods .. .. .. .. B

And substituting the following :--

Biscuits in tins, loose, in consignments of not more than twenty tins or parcels, or packed in crates or cases. Owner's risk. Special goods .. .. A
