REPORT on the Vital Statistics of the Urban Areas of the Dominion for the Month of July, 1925:—

The total births registered for the urban areas amounted to 1,056, as against 1,011 in June—an increase of 45. The deaths in July were 603, an increase of 62 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 314, females 289. Eighty-two of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 13·6 per cent. of the whole number. Sixty-one of these were under one year of age.

The equivalent annual rates per 1,000 of mean population for July, 1925, and seven months ended July, 1925, were as follows. The infantile-mortality rate per 100 births for the same period is also given.
