Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the Golden Bay Electric-power Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1920, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Public Works, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 25th day of August, 1925, at 1.30 o’clock p.m., as the time, and the Council Chambers, Takaka, as the place, for holding the first meeting of the Golden Bay Electric-power Board.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Franklin, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Main Road (Awhitu) Special-rating Area Proposed Loan of £4,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Main Road (Awhitu) Special-rating Area of Franklin County, taken on Monday, the 27th day of July, 1925, on the proposal of the Franklin County Council to borrow the sum of £4,000, for the purpose of legalizing and constructing a road from Lee’s Gully to Pollok,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 94; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 75.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Waitemata Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAITEMATA ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan of £200,000 for the Purpose of purchasing Plant and constructing Electric Works as defined in the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,940, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,196.

As the number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was more than three-fifths of the total number of votes polled, I hereby declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Otaki.

Wellington, 6th August, 1925.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough of Otaki and included in the County of Horowhenua. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF OTAKI.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded on the north by the Waitohu Stream from the north-eastern corner of the Taumanuka Block to the north-western corner of the Mangapouri Block; thence on the east by the Mangapouri and Piritaha Blocks to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned block; thence on the south, south-west, and south-east by western boundary of the other part of Church Mission and School Grant Deeds 28–299 and the production of that boundary to a public road; thence easterly along the northern side of that road a distance of 605·7 links; thence 23° 10′, distance 278·7 links; thence 113° 10′, distance 401·5 links; thence 202° 25′, distance 308·2 links, being the western boundary of the land shown on plan 2554 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, to the aforesaid public road; across that road, and along the production of the aforesaid boundary for a distance of 236·2 links; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Te Ahitangutu and Whakarangi No. 5 Blocks to the Maringiawai Stream; thence westerly generally along that stream to the south-eastern boundary of the Taumanuka Block; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of the Taumanuka Block to the Waitohu Stream, the place of commencement; and being all the land shown on plan 3364, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Taieri River Trust District, County of Taieri.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General by the Taieri River Trust under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, as amended by the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1913, and the Taieri River Improvement Act, 1920, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Taieri River Trust District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed inclusion which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE TAIERI RIVER TRUST DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, being the Town of Outram, the Townships of Outram Extension, and all those parts of River Sections 37 and 38, West Taieri District, not included in the aforesaid town and townships, and excluding Government railways, commencing at the centre of the Taieri River at the West Taieri Traffic-bridge, thence down the centre of the Taieri River to the south boundary of the Town of Outram; thence along the southern boundary of the Town of Outram to Formby Street; thence along the western boundary of the Town of Outram Township, of Outram Extension, and River Section 38, West Taieri District, to the north-west corner of said River Section 38; thence along the northern boundary of River Section 38 till it meets the main road from Outram to Mosgiel; thence along the northern boundary of the said road to the West Taieri Traffic-bridge; thence across the said road and bridge to the point of commencement at the centre of the Taieri River: excluding Government railways.
