pounds) authorized to be raised by the Waitomo Electric-power Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of distributing electrical energy in the Waitomo Electric-power Board District and for carrying out such other works, undertakings, and purposes as are authorized by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments thereto, including engineering-expenses and the purchase of all necessary materials, goods, and equipment, plant, and land, the said Waitomo Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¼d. (one penny farthing) in the £1 upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Waitomo Electric-power Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period not exceeding 36½ (thirty-six and a half) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TE PUKE TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Te Puke Town Board hereby resolves as follows:-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Te Puke Town Board Bitumen-sprayer Loan of £260, 1925, authorized to be raised by the Te Puke Town Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing one Nixon Perfection Bitumen Hand Sprayer, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Te Puke Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned WILLIAM JOSEPH FRANCIS BARNETT and STEPHEN FRANCIS BARNETT, carrying on business as Chemists in Cathedral Square, Christchurch, under the style or firm of "Barnett and Co.," has this day been dissolved by mutual consent.
All debts due to, or owing by, the said late firm will be received and paid by the said STEPHEN FRANCIS BARNETT, who will continue the said business under the present style or firm of "Barnett and Co."

THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Body Corporate called the MAYOR, COUNCILLORS, AND CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF AUCKLAND intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of a public work—viz., the widening of High Street, a public street in the City of Auckland ; and that a plan of the land proposed to be taken is deposited in the Town Clerk's Office, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and may be inspected there without fee during office hours ; and further notice is hereby given that unless within forty days from the second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, being the date of the first publication of this notice, any written objection to the taking of such land is sent to the Town Clerk, Auckland City Council, the said Auckland City Council shall forthwith proceed to take the said land for such public work.

All that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Provincial District of Auckland in New Zealand, containing by admeasurement five and one-tenth (5·1) perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment Number Four of Section Number Four, in the City of Auckland, and being the land on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under Number 5014, and being all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 172, folio 153, of the Register-books at Auckland aforesaid.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and any other Act related thereto, the Te Puke Land Drainage Board, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £295, raised by the Board under the provisions of the said Act, hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound over land classified "A," one fifth of a penny in the pound over land classified "B," and three-twentieths of a penny in the pound over land classified "C," upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kopuaroa Subdivision,
