THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service :—

William Shattock Jones, Esq.,
to be the Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of
Masterton, for the purposes of the Legislature Act, 1908,
and Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the
District of Masterton, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of
Maoris at Masterton, as from the 22nd day of June, 1925.

David John Graham, Esq.,
to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the
District of Hunterville, as from the 17th day of June, 1925.

Ivan Trevor Fallwell, Esq.,
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Te Puke,
for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1908, as from
the 25th day of June, 1925.

James McIndoe, Esq.,
to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Dunedin, for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1908, Local
Patent Officer at Dunedin, for the purposes of section 15 of
the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22,
and Returning Officer for the Dunedin Licensing District,
for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, Returning
Officer for the Electoral District of Dunedin West, for the
purposes of the Legislature Act, 1908, and Registrar of Poisons
for the District of Otago, for the purposes of the Poisons Act,
1908, as from the 23rd day of June, 1925.

New Zealand and Sheriff for the District of Hamilton, for
the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, Local Patent
Officer at Hamilton, for the purposes of section 15 of the

Donald Alexander Mackintosh, Esq.,
to be an Inspector of Prisons in terms of section 3 of the
Prisons Amendment Act, 1919, as from the 2nd day of July,
1925.

Henry Gilmore Smith, Esq.,
to be Registrar at New Plymouth of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand and Sheriff for the District of Taranaki, for
the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, Clerk of the Magis-

trates’ Court at New Plymouth, for the purposes of the
Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1908, Local Patent Officer at New
Plymouth, for the purposes of section 15 of the Patents,
Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, and Registrar of
Electors and Returning Officer, for the Electoral District of
Taranaki, for the purpose of the Legislature Act, 1908, as

to be Registrar at Christchurch of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908,

William Patrick Dale, Esq.,
to be an Inspector, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1908, and an Inspector for the purposes of the Rabbit
Nuisance Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of July, 1925.

William Dryburgh Wallace, Esq.,
to be Registrar of Poisons for the District of Southland, for
the purposes of the Poisons Act, 1908, as from the 24th day
of June, 1925.

Archibald Whyte Christie, Esq., and
Gerald Miller, Esq.,
to be Inspectors for the purposes of the Shearers’ Accommodation Act, 1919, as from the 1st day of July, 1925.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Board of the Central Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

CENTRAL ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

Pukemiro Special-rating Area.

In pursuance of the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913, and its amendments, I hereby give you notice
that the result of the poll of the ratepayers of the Pukemiro
Special-rating Area, being the Pukemiro Riding of the County
of Raglan, held on the 18th day of June, 1925, upon the proposal
to raise a special loan of £12,000, for the purposes set
out in the advertisement relating thereto, resulted as follows :

For the proposal, 50; against the proposal, 3.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Date of Election of Insurance Members of the Wairoa Fire Board.

PURSUANT to section 18 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908,
I, Richard Francis Bolland, Minister of Internal Affairs,
charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby
appoint Thursday, the 23rd day of July, 1925, to be the day
for the holding of an election of three members of the Wairoa
Fire Board by fire-insurance companies which for the time
being are carrying on business within the Wairoa Fire District.
