  1. Term of lease: Seven years, from 1st July, 1925, without right of renewal.
  2. No compensation for improvements effected.
  3. Lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, sweetbrier, and other noxious weeds on the land, and shall remove or cause to be removed all noxious weeds now growing upon the said land.
  4. Free right of ingress, egress, and regress over and upon the said land shall be given at all times to the general public with permission to hold picnics and sports meetings.
  5. Lessee shall pay all rates, taxes, and other assessments accruing upon the said land.
  6. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
  7. Lessee shall provide accommodation at all times for travelling stock at the following rates:—

For cattle not exceeding ten in number, 3d. per head per day; exceeding ten, 2d. per head per day.
For sheep not exceeding thirty in number, 2d. per head per day; exceeding thirty, 1d. per head per day.

Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale or Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be opened for selection on renewable lease in terms of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 4 o’clock p.m., on Tuesday, the 7th July, 1925.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.

Waimea County.—Waimea Survey District.

(Exempt from rent for four years.)

SECTION 9, Block XV: Area, 1,008 acres; capital value, £960; half-yearly rent, £19 4s.

Situated in the “Waimea Block” in Aniseed Valley, between Serpentine and Miner Creeks. Access from Hope Railway-station, eight miles by good metalled road, thence one mile rough track. Steep rugged country, almost entirely covered with manuka-scrub and a few patches of light bush. Poor soil; within the mineral belt. Well watered. Altitude, 600 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level.

Section 11, Block XV: Area, 1,470 acres; capital value, £1,290; half-yearly rent, £25 16s.

Situated in the “Waimea Block” two miles up the Serpentine Creek. Access from Hope Railway-station by good metalled road to within two miles of section, then rough bridle-track. Very broken hilly country covered with light bush and manuka-scrub. Clayey soil resting on mineral-rock formation. Well watered. Altitude, 400 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level. General quality poor.

Titles will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.
