It is hereby notified for general information, in terms of section eleven of the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) (Basutoland) Proclamation, 1921, that, whereas His Excellency the High Commissioner is satisfied that reciprocal provisions have been made by the Legislative Authority of New Zealand for the enforcement within New Zealand of maintenance orders made by Courts in Basutoland, His Excellency has been pleased to extend the said Proclamation to maintenance orders made by Courts within New Zealand.

Varying Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, prohibiting the Sale in the Borough of Hamilton of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Tobacconist.

WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Hamilton has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th May, 1922, prohibiting the sale, in the Borough of Hamilton, of goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist be altered by adding the following further exception: when Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Anzac Day, or the King’s Birthday falls on a Friday the sale of the said goods is hereby prohibited after the hour of 10 p.m. on the evening prior to such day:

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops in the said district:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I do hereby direct that the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th May, 1922, prohibiting the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a tobacconist shall be and is hereby varied accordingly as from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Varying Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Hairdressers’, and (2) Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of Hamilton.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) hairdresser, and (2) tobacconist, in the Borough of Hamilton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice fixing the closing-hours of such shops, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th May, 1922, shall be varied as follows—When Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Anzac Day, or the King’s Birthday falls on a Friday the hour of closing on the evening prior to such day shall be 10 p.m.:

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades in the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th May, 1922, fixing the closing-hours of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) hairdresser, and (2) tobacconist, shall be and is hereby varied accordingly as from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

NOTICE is hereby given that the registration of the Westland Engine-drivers, Firemen, Motormen, Brakesmen, Blacksmiths, Electricians, and Pumpmen’s Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 968, situated at Greymouth, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ERNEST CLAUDE ADAMS, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the West Coast British and Intercolonial Exhibition Association (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, Part II. Unclaimed Lands.

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands), made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and the whereabouts of the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent hereto: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained the whereabouts of the owner and believe that such owner or an agent of such owner is not in the Dominion, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908; the value of the land for the purposes of section 67 (d) of the said Act being less than £500.
