A PPLICATION having been made to the Westland Land Board for the issue of a copy of renewable lease Number 231 over Section 3019, Block II, Poerua Survey District, registered as Volume 19, folio 276 (Westland), whereof JOHN HENRY DIEDRICH'S is the registered licensee, and evidence of loss of the original license having been lodged, I hereby give notice that I will issue a new license unless objection be lodged forbidding the same within fourteen days after the publication of this notice.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Masterton Borough North Ward Water-reticulation Loan of £9,000, 1925, authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing a revised water-reticulation for the North Ward of the Borough of Masterton, the said Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two (2) pence three farthings (3d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the North Ward of the Borough of Masterton; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MARLBOROUGH ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Marlborough Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £300,000, authorized to be raised by the Marlborough Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes namely :—
(a.) To establish, acquire, and carry out the following works and undertakings : Generating-works, transmission and distributing lines, sub-stations, and all necessary lands, easements, buildings, equipment, plant, machinery, and chattels requisite therefor, and to provide for the cost of survey and other preliminary works and expenses of administration, and to pay expenses incurred by the Board as provided by section 18 of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1922, and generally exercise the rights and powers under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and its amendments, as the Board may deem expedient :
(b.) To provide money to install electrical and other equipment for consumers as provided for under section 88 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments thereto, and to provide money to purchase electrical and other equipment to sell to consumers as provided for under section 90 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and amendments thereto,—
the said the Marlborough Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-two one-hundredths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Marlborough Electric-power District, comprising the whole of the said district as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th day of October, 1923 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HAINES BRICK, TILE, AND PIPE COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT a special general meeting of shareholders regularly called for the purpose and duly held on 11th day of November, 1921, the following special resolution was unanimously carried :—
"That the HAINESS BRICK, TILE, AND PIPE COMPANY (LIMITED) be wound up voluntarily, and that Messrs. JOHN CALDER, F. J. KNIGHT, and B. L. MALMANCHE be appointed Liquidators of the said company."
And the above special resolution was unanimously confirmed at a special general meeting of shareholders regularly called for the purpose, and duly held at my office on Friday, the 25th day of November, 1921.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at 175 Heretford Street, Christchurch, on the 11th day of May, 1925, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily."
At the same meeting Messrs. A. E. TALBOT and L. W. BALLAN, both of Christchurch, were appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.

EUREKA GUM COMPANY (LIMITED).

In LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above company held at the registered office of the company, Stock Exchange Buildings, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 21st day of May, 1925, at 4 o'clock p.m., the following resolution was approved and passed, namely :—
"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to voluntarily wind up the company, and that Mr. THOMAS HENRY THOMPSON, of Dunedin, F.P.A., be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up."

SOUTHLAND ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Southland Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Southland Electric-power Board Supplementary Loan of £150,000, 1925, being 10 per cent. additional of a loan of one million five hundred thousand pounds (£1,500,000), authorized to be raised by the Southland Electric-power Board under the abovementioned Act for the purpose of generating and distributing electric energy throughout the Southland Electric-power District from Monowai River and Lake (such latter amount being insufficient to complete the works for which such loan was raised), the said Southland Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth (1/5th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Southland Electric-power District as defined in the Second Schedule to the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 19th day of November, 1919 ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
