Result of Poll to raise a Loan of £1,000 for Bridge and Culvert Reconstruction.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Otaki taken on the 22nd day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of reconstruction of bridges and culverts within the borough,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 114; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 101.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Result of Poll to raise a Loan of £4,500 for Completion of Sewage Scheme.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Otaki taken on the 22nd day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Borough Council to borrow the sum of £4,500 for the purpose of completing the present sewage scheme and to give any necessary financial assistance to ratepayers for private drains and sanitary works,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 106; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 113.
I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Cook taken on the 5th day of November, 1924, on the proposal of the Cook County Council to borrow the sum of £153,000 for formation, metalling, and bitumen-sealing of roads; and renewal and erection of bridges, £148,000; purchase of road-making machinery and plant, £5,000,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,016; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 181.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Result of Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Tongaporutu Special-rating District of the County of Ohura was taken on the 11th day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Ohura County Council to borrow £2,000 for the purpose of re-forming, culverting, and metalling the Tongaporutu-Mangaroa Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 11; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was Nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the No. 19 Special-rating District, Pukerua Bay (being a portion of the Horokiwi Riding of the County of Hutt), taken on the 19th December, 1924, on the proposal of the Hutt County Council to borrow the sum of £1,000, for the purpose of constructing roads and all works incidental thereto on the western or seaward side of the railway-line in the said special-rating district,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 39, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Hutt taken on the 19th day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Hutt County Council to borrow the sum of £45,000 for the purpose of construction and reconstruction of main roads and main highways, and all work incidental thereto, and the purchase of the necessary machinery therefor,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 683; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 67.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XV, Wataroa Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block XV, Wataroa Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Wataroa, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 5 acres 3 roods 17 perches.
Being portion of Section 2374, Block XV, Wataroa Survey District (Westland R.D.). (S.O. 2392.)
In the Westland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 60767, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
