JAN. 22.]\nTHE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.\n169\n\nValidating the Proceedings in connection with a Loan of\n£5,000, proposed to be raised by the Council of the County\nof Waipara.\n\nCHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.\nORDER IN COUNCIL.\nAt the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of\nJanuary, 1925.\nPresent:\nHIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.\nW HEREAS the Waipara County Council, acting under\nand in pursuance of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,\n1913, proposes to raise a loan of five thousand pounds for\nthe purpose of erecting workers' dwelling :\nAnd whereas the proceedings in connection with the said\nloan are irregular in that the public notice of the meeting\nto confirm the special order authorizing the raising of the\nloan did not state the time and place fixed for such meeting :\nAnd whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been\nmisled by the said irregularity, and it is expedient to validate\nthe same :\nNow, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of\nthe Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of\nthe powers and authorities conferred on him by section one\nhundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,\nand acting by and with the advice and consent of the\nExecutive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order\nand declare that the proceedings taken to raise the said\nloan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though\npublic notification of the special order had been correctly\ngiven, and that the validity of the proceedings in connection\nwith the said loan shall not be called into question by reason\nof the irregularity aforesaid.\nF. Governor General.\nW HEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth sec-\ntion of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the\nGovernor-General may from time to time, either by general\nor particular description, and whether the same has been\nsurveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding\nthat the same may be then held under pastoral license,\nany Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any\nof the purposes in the said section mentioned :\nAnd whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section\nof the said Act it is provided that land temporarily re-\nserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section\nmay, at the expiration of one month but not later than six\nmonths after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such\ntemporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that\nnotice of such permanent reservation shall be published in\nthe Gazette :\nAnd whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto\nwas, by Warrant dated the twenty-fifth day of October,\none thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and published\nin Gazette of the thirtieth day of that month, temporarily\nreserved under the authority of the said Acts for river-\nprotection purposes :\nNow, therefore, I, Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-\nGeneral of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and\nexercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by\nthe said Acts, do hereby permanently reserve the land de-\nscribed in the Schedule hereto for river-protection purposes,\nfor which the said land was so temporarily reserved as afore-\nsaid.\n\nSCHEDULE.\n\nMARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.\nALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing\napproximately 780 acres, being a portion of the original bed\nof the Wairau River, situated in Blocks VI, VII, IX, and X,\nCloudy Bay Survey District, bounded as follows : Com-\nmencing at the Wairau Bridge in Block IX, Cloudy Bay\nSurvey District; thence in a northerly direction by that\nbridge to the middle of the Wairau River; thence in an\neasterly direction by the middle-line of that river to the\nwestern boundary of Section 69, Block VII aforesaid ; thence\nin a southerly direction by the said boundary to Section 126,\nWairau West; thence in a westerly direction by the northern\nboundaries of Sections 126, 125, 124, and 122, Wairau West,\nby the western boundary of the last-mentioned section, and\nby the river-bank road along the southern bank of the Wairau\nRiver to the Wairau Bridge, the point of commencement.\nExcluding from the above description Sections 120 and 121,\nWairau West, with all access and appurtenant rights, for which\ndue allowance has been made in the above area. As the\nsame is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/3200,\ndeposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and\nSurvey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.\nAs witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-\nGeneral, this 16th day of January, 1925.\nA. As the same is\nmore particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S.\n6/6/401, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands\nand Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple.\nAs witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-\nGeneral, this 17th day of January, 1925.\nA.
