THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Hutt Valley Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the constituent districts of the Hutt Valley Electric-power district, comprising the Porirua Riding of the County of Makara and the Town District of Johnsonville, taken on the 18th day of March, 1925, on the proposal of the Hutt Valley Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £40,000 for the purpose of distributing electrical energy in the aforesaid constituent districts, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 317; against the proposal was 9.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OTAKI RIVER BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Otaki River District taken on the 25th day of February, 1925, on the proposal of the Otaki River Board to raise a special loan of £9,000 for No. 4 Protective Works,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 45; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 33.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

LOWER MANGAPIKO DRAINAGE BOARD.

Special Order.

PASSED at special meeting of the Board held on 23rd January, 1925. Confirmed at a special meeting of the Board held on 26th February, 1925.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 16 of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, section 2 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1920, and of every other power it thereto enabling, the Lower Mangapiko Drainage Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

  1. On and after the 1st day of April, 1925, the Lower Mangapiko Drainage District shall be divided into three subdivisions, to be known as the Te Rahu Subdivision, the Mangapiko Subdivision, and the Paterangi Subdivision.
