Acclimatization Society, or any person authorized by such
secretary in that behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue
the said licenses.
-
The number of such native game that may be taken
or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed
twenty-five head in all of grey duck and black swan. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill native game shall
authorize the holder thereof to take or kill native game on
lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclima-
tization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any
sanctuary or public domain. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such native game, or
shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such native game, with any
automatic or auto-loading gun, unless it is converted into a
gun capable of carrying two cartridges only, or with any
rifle or pea-rifle, swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall
use any gun other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be
used for the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than
the size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun
be used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than half an hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than half an hour after
sunset. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these con-
ditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded on
the north-west by the Westland Acclimatization District,
hereinafter described; on the north-east by the North
Canterbury Acclimatization District, hereinafter described;
on the south-east by the sea; and on the south-west
generally by the middle of the Rangitata River to Forest
Creek, by the Forest Creek to its source in the Two Thumbs
Range, thence by a line along the summit of the Two Thumbs
Range to the summit of the Southern Alps, the boundary
of the Westland Acclimatization District, the point of com-
mencement.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License
Fees, &c., Auckland Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of
May to the 31st day of July, 1925 (both days inclusiv- ), to be
an open season in the Auckland Acclimatization District,
as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas
referred to in condition No. 3 for the taking or killing of
the following imported game—viz., cock pheasants, Califor-
nian quail, and Australian quail; and the period from the
lst day of May to the 30th day of June, 1925 (both days
inclusive), to be an open season in the said district for the
taking or killing of the following native game—viz., grey
duck, and black swan; and the period from the 1st day
of May to the 31st day of May, 1925 (both days inclu-
sive) to be an open season in that part of the said district
consisting of the Counties of Waipa and Piako for the taking
or killing of the following native game—viz., pukeko; and the
period from the lst day of January to the 31st day of March,
1926 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the
said district for the taking or killing of the following native
game—viz., godwits and knots—subject to the following con-
ditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game, including godwits and knots, within the said district
will be issued to any person on payment of the sum of
twenty shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the
following native game only—viz., godwits and knots—will
be issued to any person on payment of ten shillings (10s.)
each; and the secretary of the Auckland Acclimatization
Society, or any person authorized by such secretary in that
behalf, is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said
licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one
day shall not exceed twelve cock pheasants, and twenty-five
head in all of grey duck, pukeko, and black swan. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game, including godwits and knots (or the follow-
ing native game only—viz., godwits and knots), shall authorize

the holder thereof to take or kill imported game and native
game, including godwits and knots (or godwits and knots
only), on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered
acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on
any sanctuary or public domain, or any land mentioned in
the Second Schedule hereto.

No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor
shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any
one time (whether by one or several persons) on any particu-
lar water within an area of less than 100 square yards. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than half an hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than half an hour after
sunset. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-
loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of

All that area in the North Auckland, Auckland, Taranaki,
and Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing
at the mouth of the Mokau River, and proceeding thence
along high-water mark, Tasman Sea, in a northerly direction
generally (crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by
the way) to the Kaipara Harbour entrance to a point midway
between Kaipara Heads; thence up the centre of the channels,
Kaipara Harbour, leading to the mouth of Oruawhero River;
thence by the southern boundaries of the Hobson and Wha-
ngarei Acclimatization Districts, hereinafter described, to
the Mangawhai Harbour; thence by the middle of that
harbour to the sea; thence along high-water mark of the sea,
Hauraki Gulf and Firth of Thames (crossing the mouths of
all harbours and rivers by the way), to the mouth of the
Waikawau River in Block VI, Hastings Survey District;
thence up the middle of that river to its source, and along a
right line from said source to Northhead, Tairua Harbour;
thence southerly along high-water mark, Bay of Plenty
(crossing the mouths of all harbours and rivers by the way),
to the mouth of the Waihi River, in Block III, Waihi North
Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line
to Mount Te Aroha Trig. Station; thence north-easterly
along a right line (in the direction of Ngakuriawhare Trig.
Station, Block 1, Katikati North) to the western boundary
of the Tauranga Confiscation Block; thence south-easterly
by a right line from hill to hill along the summit of the range
forming the western boundary of the aforesaid Tauranga
Confiscation Block and passing over Ngatamahinerau, Mimio-
tohanga, and Waianuanu to Te Weraiti Trig. Station ; thence
south-easterly along a right line to Puwhenua Trig. Station
(in Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District); thence south-
westerly along a right line to Rangitoto Mountain; thence
south-easterly along a right line to the source of the Onga-
ruhe River; thence southerly along a mountain range passing
through Weraroa, Tuhingamata, Motere, and Hauhangaroa
Trig. Stations to Maungaku Trig. Station; thence southerly
along the western boundary of the Waione Block to the
Wanganui River; thence down the middle of that river to
its confluence with the Ohura River; thence up the middle
of the Ohura River to the 39th parallel of south latitude;
thence westerly along the said parallel of latitude to the
western boundary of Block IV, Pouatu Survey District;
thence due north along that boundary and the western
boundary of Block XVI, Waro Survey District, to the con-
fiscation line; thence north-easterly along that line to the
Tangarakau Stream; thence up the middle of that stream
and up the middle of the Waitaanga Stream to the Kotare
Road, at the southern boundary of Section 2, Block VII,
Waro Survey District; thence westerly along the Kotare
Road to the south-west corner of Section 1, Block VII; thence
along the south-west boundary of the said section and along
the southern, western, and northern boundaries of Section 3,
Block VI, Waro Survey District, to the western boundary of
Section 4, Block VI, Waro Survey District; thence along the
western boundaries generally of Sections 4 and 5, and along
the south-western and northern boundaries of Section 6 (all
in Block VI, Waro Survey District) to the Mohakatino Road;
thence northerly along that road to a stream which crosses
the Mohakatino-Parininihi 1D East Block and flows into
the Mohakatino Stream near the westernmost corner of
Section 1, Block III, Waro Survey District; thence down
that stream to the said confluence and up the said Mohakatino
Stream and along the northern boundary of Section 3, Block
