Kowai County Council.
We hereby give notice that on Thursday, the 5th day of
March, 1925, a proposal was submitted by the Kowai County
Council to the ratepayers of the North Riding of the county
to raise a special loan of £10,000 for the purpose of erecting
bridges over the North Kowai River on the site of Tobin’s
Ford in Tobin’s Road and Gray’s Ford in Gray’s Road, and
that the total number of votes recorded respectively for and
against the proposal was as follows :—
For the proposal, 95 ; against the proposal, 35 ; informal,
Nil : total, 130.
And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Board of the Tamaki Road District, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

TAMAKI ROAD BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Tamaki Road District taken on the 12th day of February,
1925, on the proposal of the Tamaki Road Board to borrow
the sum of £20,000 for the following objects—To provide the
cost of the acquisition as a recreation-ground of part Farm
Sections 32 and 40A, District of Tamaki, situate at Mission
Bay, Kohimarama, and improving and laying out such
grounds, £20,000,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 277 ;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 191.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

I therefore declare the proposal to be rejected.
Mount Wesley Coast Road Loan.
NOTICE is hereby given that at the poll of ratepayers taken on
the 10th March, 1925, on the proposal to borrow £700 for the
purpose of forming and metalling the Mount Wesley Coast
Road to Mr. Hilliam’s western boundary, the number of votes
recorded was as follows :—
For the proposal, 4 ; against the proposal, 0.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Varying Notification declaring an Open Season for Deer-
shooting, Westland Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby vary the notification dated the 21st day
of February, 1925, declaring an open season for deer-shooting
in the Westland Acclimatization District, and do hereby
declare that the number of licenses which may be issued by
the Chief Postmaster, Hokitika, shall not exceed nineteen.

Public Service Entrance.—Special Examination, July, 1925.
NOTICE is hereby given that it has been decided to
hold a special Public Service Entrance Examination
for male candidates commencing about the 14th July, 1925.
The examination will most probably be held at the following
centres : Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Thames, New
Plymouth, Stratford, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Gisborne,
Napier, Dannevirke, Masterton, Wellington, Blenheim,
Nelson, Reefton, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Christ-
church, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, and Invercargill ;
but, should sufficient candidates offer, the examination will
be held also at other centres. If necessary, candidates will
be required to attend at some centre other than the one men-
tioned in their application form.
Entries on proper forms, obtainable from the offices of the
Public Service Commissioner, the Education Boards, or the
Education Department, will be received by the Director of
Education, Wellington, up to the 15th May.
An entrance fee of £1 is payable at any post-office money-
order office.
