Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 18th March, 1925.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Hokianga, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Motukaraka Riding (Special Area), in the County of Hokianga, was taken on the 28th day of February, 1925, on the proposal of the Hokianga County Council to borrow the sum of £5,400 for the purpose of forming, re-forming, culverting, bridging, and metalling the roads as defined in the said special area.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 33; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to strike a Bridge Rate.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Otamatea, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OTAMATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on County Bridge Rate Proposal.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Otamatea, taken on the 12th day of February, 1925, on the proposal of the Otamatea County Council to levy a bridge rate of one half-penny in the pound on all rateable property within the County of Otamatea for the purpose of providing funds for the reconstruction of bridges exceeding 20 ft. in span on roads under the jurisdiction of the Otamatea County Council,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 386; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 151; informal, 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Waverley Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WAVERLEY TOWN BOARD.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Waverley taken on the 5th day of March, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £4,420 for the following purposes: Formation and metalling of the following streets or parts thereof situate in the Township of Waverley—namely, Chester Street from Weraroa Road to Fookes Street; Bear Street from Weraroa Road to Smith Street; Gloag Street from Wereroa Road to Fookes Street; Brassey Street from Chester Street to Wilson Street; Hussey Street from Chester Street to Gloag Street; Smith Street from Chester Street to Gloag Street; Weraroa Road; also tar-grouting part of Weraroa Road; kerbing and channelling and tar-grouting footpaths in part of Weraroa Road; engineering and contingencies,----

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 79, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 39.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Henderson Town District taken on the 28th day of February, 1925, on the proposal of the Henderson Town Board to borrow the sum of £10,700 for the provision of a water-supply for the district,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 104; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 64; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Mangaone Riding.—Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Mangaone Riding of the County of Kairanga, taken on the 5th day of March, 1925, on the proposal of the Kairanga County Council to borrow the sum £1,100 for the purpose of widening and remetalling Napier Road, and treating surface with tar and asphalts,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 58; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 20.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Geraldine, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers that part of the county included in the Geraldine Downs Raukapuka Water-supply District taken on the 18th day of March, 1925, on the proposal of the Geraldine County Council to borrow the sum of £10,500 for the construction of water-races within the said Geraldine Downs Raukapuka Water-supply District,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 119; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7; the number of informal votes was 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
